I can only assume. I avoided using the thing because it was such a pain. I just figured it was my inability. I had no comparison, so I never used the thing.

Now, it is as easy to use as welding iron, except for the built bulky spool holder. I want my 20 years back!

I forgot to post earlier, I checked our spoolgun and the rollers wouldn't stop with finger pressure.

Glad that new part fixed it.

Thanks, brother. I was 90 percent sure I knew what the problem was, but that 10 percent sure had me doubting my welding abilities.

I see things like this from time to time customer unsure how something should work puts up with sub par performance to the warranty runs out. only a year later to hire a new welder that spots the issue the first ten minutes.

Then the opposite end to smart to read the operators manual these new machines change so fast .

Good one playing out now end user crying newer machine not working correct Warranty !!!Warranty!! our new Miller rep allows a loaner machine

Even though all the set up instructions are right under the lift up door the end user managed to set the machine in the spot weld mode .

Kinda like putting diesel in your fuel tank of your gas engine and crying warranty defect !!

This has been playing out for a few weeks now.

I got busy and built a new torch cart, the wife calls it the torch trolley. Wheels are 26" and came from Northern Tool using a standard 26x2.125 tires and tubes, steel came from a local supplier, 2" x 1/8 angle, 3/4 bar and 4x 1/4" strip. And in some short pieces of 2" square and some 1/4" chain.

Posed for the pics in a fancy new pair of Dickies Overalls...50D17462-9CC0-4788-8D8F-8C4824BC2048.jpg

Need an opinion from you guys. I'm in the market for a new welder. Mine has proven to be a pain in the ass to get a new gun with the correct fitting on it. Got to love that Lincoln made it so you couldn't replace the liner in it also. Anyway...

I've been looking at the Lincoln 210 MP and saw where a couple on here had bought one quite a while back now. Any thoughts on this one along with how it's holding up? I'd rather have one of the bigger models like I have now so I could use the bigger spools of wire but this one is fitting my budget a little better right now. I already have the C25 bottle to add to it. Thanks for any input.

If you go with that Lincoln 210 Mp be very careful when you tighten the drive housing screws they brake quite easy

We have 4 or 5 waiting on New Drive housings

Just what type of welder can`t you get a gun for ??

It's a Lincoln SP-150 from 1988. It's one of the bigger transformer welders on wheels. They say I can get the stuff but what they have isn't matching up with the connections on the welder. I don't know if they may have switched the trigger connector mid production or what. Plus cost wise it's getting close to what I paid for the welder. I'm sure I could modify it to work but I don't want to be doing that to a new gun.

I'm more curious if you really need a multi purpose welder.

Once a person find out how useful MIG welding is, they often find they never use the machine for any other type of welding.

I will freely admit that I'm biased. I have no use for any other type of welding machine. If I never see TIG welding again in my life, that will be just fine.

I've spent 30 years trying to master MIG welding, and have done pretty well, but know I can always improve with more welding.

Adding TIG welding to the mix just seems like a waste of time to me.

Multi purpose machines are like loaded cars. Do I really need every accessory just to go to work?

I very seldom see the 210 MP with the Tig Goodies

Yes I know all to well about the Lincoln SP -150 that was a very strange set up

Quite possible yours has been modified .

I did get a new gun for a friends fathers machine a few years ago

Tig is nice when sparks or spatter are an issue.

No argument. TIG is nice. I just very seldom have conditions that allow the use of TIG welding.

If all my work was at a bench, sitting on a comfortable stool in a controlled environment, I would do nothing but TIG welding.

Unfortunately, I find myself welding upside down with one shoulder in a mud puddle on a regular occasion.

I just want the job done quickly in a quality manner.
