Hey folks, I'm hoping you guys can help me out with a quick question.

I bought a used Lincoln 180, and I have been gathering all the other equipment of the last few weeks. I just noticed my regulator doesn't have a knob!

It doesn't look like anything broken, can I just replace the knob only? Or do I need to get a whole new regulator set up?

    Reserected from the dead.
Is it broke or just missing? The knobs screw out completely with no damage to the regulator.

where did you buy it? is it new? I would guess you should be able to buy the part if its not broke off.

It looks like it's just missing. The threads inside look clean.

There is something in there, it looks like the knob presses down on it to adjust the valve?

I wonder if you can just replace it with a simple threaded knob? Not sure if the knob itself is integral to the regulator or if it simply presses down on a valve inside the regulator body. I'll check mine in a couple hours when I go home for lunch and let you know.

Worst case I might have an extra regulator with broken gages that I can scavenge parts off of for you.

prob what it does since it doesnt look like theres an individual adjustment. Pressure then releases when you take the knob out

Makes sense to me, but I'm not as experienced as some here so I figured I'd play it safe with my "help".:anonymous:

sometimes those items are reverse threads, just have to get the right replacement part.

Thanks guys. Im thinking I'll bring it into HD or to the welding supply when I pick up a tank. One of those two will hopefully have a knob I can use

I know this isn't a miller but it is the same welder we have and it has no problem with anything I have thrown at it. I've done some body work, some turbo exhaust work and some pretty large farm equipment repairs with it. and its 10% and free shipping right now. thought I'd throw it out here for anyone looking for a back up or just a cheap 250 amp to play around with (60% duty cycle at 250 amps too; I haven't ran into an issue on that end haha)

just make sure your gloves are dry, and typically you clamp your electrical closest to the weld area. You dont want to be the shortest connection;)

parts like tips? yeah they take the tweco tips I believe... not sure what other parts there would be like the gun and liner and such, I'm not sure if its pretty stardard or what but eastwood is big company (or atleast they carry a lot of products and I think they sponser some DIY garage shows too and have their own youtube channel and stuff for their products and how to's) so if it came down to it I guess if you couldn't find somethin local you could always just order it.

I assume you are talking to me on all accounts so to address your last statement, unless you were looking for someone to find good deals on stuff, you might wanna look at my welding abilities before you offer me a job haha. its not horrible but it aint porn for sure

oh I dunno about circuit boards all I see on the website is replacement torches and drive rollers (gas hoses and regulators but I assume those are pretty universal)
