To be Honest I have a Hypertherm Powermax 900 I cut things much more with the 4 1/2" angle grinder

Just flip the switch and pick up the torch

If I did more Stainless or Aluminum I might use it more

I have a HF angle grinder, I havent looked at cutting discs for it...do they have such a thing or do you just use the grinder wheel? It just seems like it takes a long time to cut flat sheet 1/8" metal with any grinder or cut off tool. I still have to try my jigsaw with the metal cutting blade.

Yes they do they are made just for cutting

    They are quite thin 1/8"

The downside is you can only make straight cuts

Depends just what your trying to cut you need to clamp it so it can`t vibrate if it vibrates it will cause the wheel to self destruct .

People tend to hurt themselves in this way much to often .

Common sense and taking your time go along way to keeping you safe

After so many years with a oxy fuel torch I still reach for the striker to light the plasma torch.

That is always good for some laughs

Then I still nod my head with my Auto Dark hood.

Walter brand "zip cut" (.045") will last longer than others, they have an aluminum flavour as well.

I have had very good luck with the Walter brand. My "go to" brand for flap wheel discs.

I haven't used their cut off wheels. Another plasma cutter owner here.

You know I have tried a bunch of different brands the Air Gas House Brand Radnor Sait I might have even had a box of Metabo once from some place

I can`t say I can tell a very big difference between any of them

I got sweet talked into doing some rust repair on a Mower Deck I used my Grinder to cut up some Lincoln DC 1000 panels for patch pieces

I've been using one of those MetalMax blades for a couple months now, doesn't show much sign of wear yet after probably 100 "cuts". They don't work well on aluminum (just get gummed up) and they seem to cut thick stuff like 1/4" steel quite a bit slower than a good standard abrasive cutoff wheel especially when trying to do a plunge cut vs slicing something off

Went to my friendly neighborhood steel man today to get some supplies to build some sliders for my wife's 4Runner. Asked about some scrap on my way out the door, he told me to take anything I wanted up against this side of the building, score!!! Got enough today to build a cart for my welder and cylinder, just need to grab some casters and I'm in business. Started acquiring steel for some ramps for my trailer/truck bed as well.

Still very pleased with how easy it is to make good welds with this machine and gas. I've definitely been looking for projects that I can do in metal since I got it.

Building this rack for my boss's Grip truck. For holding steel pipe, aluminum tube, lumber, milk crates full of gear, etc. I'm half way done. Still have another section to do. Below is the drawing of what the whole thing will look like

Here I thought it was a book case

My book case looks like that Votech welding project a long time ago.

Yeah it does look like that. Here you get a basic idea of what we use them for at work. Different looking rack but same idea

Doooo iiittt! Was pretty easy with plans. Just a little tedious with all the measurements and getting everything to be nice and square haha

Here's my newest purchase. I pulled the image off Google because I currently have the machine sitting in storage. Anyone familiar with this machine? It's in great shape and I didn't pay much for it. Just looking for more info.
