Poor design Lincoln is not telling us just what the new upgrade is

In essence we remove the cover everything else is then replaced

I know lots of High Frequency problems

Since this is geared for a Home Owner they don`t appear to like 208VAC

You might have one we did already if it was bought in the NorthEast

IMG_0332.jpg IMG_0327.jpg IMG_0252.jpg Started building some industrial shelving for my office. Will be suspended from the ceiling with 3/4" threaded rod, each shelf steps back as it goes up. And finally finished a little table I have been working on in my spare time for over a year. Going to make a template that matches the shape of the top and add 3"s and order a piece of green edge 1/2" glass for the top. Kinda nice to do stuff for myself for a change.

The bigger the rolls, the cheaper the overall cost. I've got 33 for $60at times.

The trade off is if you can't use it that fast, it may tarnish and give troubles. I get mine at Air Gas.

I ordered a bug roll off the internet once. It had been dropped. The wire ended up feeding crossed and tangled. I threw it away after untangling it 3 times. I now always buy local and check to make sure the Spool is undamaged.

I get so much wire that comes off rental machines I have not bought any but .023 in the last 10 years

Anyone close if you need 035 or 045 33 pound spools any where from almost full to 1/2 a roll I will never use it all

Found a Roll of .045 Verticore II

@Jcyr I bought my last 10lb spool from Lowes, Jack. I thought about buying some Vulcan brand wire from HF the other day when I was in the store.

I think Lowes was the same price as Amazon, so I figured it was a good enough deal.

I get my gas at Igo's in Watertown. A little out of the way but its cheap.

Just picked up a Jackson truesight to replace my Miller digital elite. So far I like the shell and lense but god damn it, why can’t the cover plates be standardized?! Every hood takes a different plate!

Amazon usually....but I order so little wire its more out of convenience than anything. Plus free returns if it comes damaged. But the 10lb spools last me a long time. The LWS is in a really inconvenient location for me (traffic wise) and their prices are bit more than amazon. Plus its a central welding supply so not a more mom-n-pop place so don't feel bad about not buying from them. I do get gas and some steel from them though

Supposedly the Vulcan (at least tig) stuff is decent. Seen some reviews of it saying its probably Lincoln made stuff just rebranded and possibly more of "2nds" or just a bit less QC than the stuff Lincoln sells.

    How much TIG vs. MIG?

I have a Multimatic 215, which is a really good MIG and useable TIG for steel. It's pretty much not useful for aluminum and I don't like that it lacks high frequency start.

If you want something that is primarily a TIG that can do a little MIG I'd suggest maybe a Syncrowave 210. That will run a spool gun, which can get the job done but then you're limited to 2 lb rolls and 0.030 and 0.035 wire so not the most flexible MIG.

90% MIG, 10% TIG. I have a friend that can do aluminum if I ever needed it, so that isn't an issue. Definitely seems I'm looking at the Multimatic line though. Thanks!

Yup, then, the Multimatic 200 or 215 or the Lincoln 210MP will be good options. The Vulcans at Horrible Freight do seem like a step up for them but call me skeptical. If I was doing it over I might go with the MM200 instead, the display of the 215 was for me like a moth to a flame.
