Put a pair of hooks on my bucket (one at each corner) and on the grader blade a couple of weekends ago. It didn't come with any on the bucket, and for some reason it was cheaper to get a set of 4 than to buy a pair. The choice was obvious. :notsure:

Unfortunately, all I had for spray paint was black

Hey all I'm looking for a little input. I have little welding expierence but still looking to buy a machine for a few household projects like gates and nice work bench.
I'd like a multi process machine since my only real expierence is with stick electrodes.

Anyway I'm thinking about this machine
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CF5VTS...71&hvtargid=aud-416395350856:pla-407203040874
but a fabricator I've used a few time reccomended looking at the Vulcan machines. I'm definatley not too good for HF but a little skeptical buying welder from them.

Who knows? maybe someday I'll build a rock bouncer with it:rolleyes:

I have the Vulcan MigMax 215. No complains so far. Warranty is not bad either. I will return mine within a year and then buy extended warranty for $80= two more years.

The vulcans have had pretty good reviews for the DIYer. Some quirks in the machines but nothing to major (like no post flow adjustment on the TIG)

Have I bitched that much about it? :)
The long post flow does help when welding above 150 amps. The torch gets a tad hot and it would be worse without the long post flow.

Don't over think it. Basically you get a year free trial with the Vulcan machines.

Getting ready to wire in my 220 plug in the new house. Problem is the panel is about 110ft +/- from where the plug is going to go. Welder is a miller multimatic 215 and will eventually get a hypertherma plasma (either 30 or 45) and want to be able to run those off of it (not both at once) as well as have the possibility to make it a sub panel to put in a second 220 line for an aircompressor or the likes. Welder uses a max of 50-60 but wanted to know if I could use wire thick enough for 100 amps? and how thick of wire should I be using?

#4 copper (not usually used). Usually in house, a 100A service is #2 alum. Edit: We used to call the aluminum service wire a "3214", which has three #2 al wires and one #4 ground.

Question, when welding different thickness material, do you set the welder to the thicker material or in between the two thicknesses?

I was practicing welding pipe to a thicker plate:

Okay, got it. Will try that next time. I had my machine set over the thinner material but still under the thicker.
