No pivot. Just got to think a bit ahead when making turns.

Haha going to embarrass myself. Definitely still learning. They aren’t pretty but they should hold. Still trying to figure out the wire speed and voltage on my welder. Second major project using it but it’s in metric. For the price ($100 donation) I can’t complain for a mig 250

These are the “best” photos. Hope they help. The corner by the bumper looks like Swiss cheese so I can have access to the bumper and shackle hangers. Not a fan of having trapped bolts. If they strip your screwed (unless you have a tap set but I’m still saving for one of those).

Plate was set into the frame.

Really the only thing that sucked was welding on the tank side as the brake lines are really close to that bottom plate that’s being welded. With the bed on it’s going to be even better I’m sure.

I was Towing a Truck it was ugly out I forget to pull the pin out that allowed it to pivot .

Every turn the front wheels of the truck would turn in the direction of the turn even with the Ratchet straps over the tires

Being overly tired I just could not figure out what was wrong

The next morning when unloading things I saw what I forgot .

Be interesting to see how your works

OP you should watch some videos that explain what is happening in the weld puddle.

To me a Video was something you put a reel on a projector to watch .

Once you grasp that concept no matter the process you just need hands on practice .

To make the puddle do what needs to be done in what ever joint your welding .

Prep work and fit up come into play but understanding what your watching makes it much easier.

I don't have a flow gauge. I found them to be just short of useless for MIG welding.

I'm at or near 5psi on the secondary gauge. I might bump it up if I have a fan running.

    I have no idea !!

I turn the flow down to I get porosity then turn it up to remove it .

Taught that in school long long ago seems to work.

    Exactly.

Once you pay for your own wire and gas, you will change your style of welding.

Any thing that can be done to save money on consumables, but not sacrifice quality welds, is money in your pocket.

Looking for a recommendation on a generator that will run my Lincoln Pro Mig 180. If it can run my 240v air compressor (5HP motor) and my Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38 too that would be fantastic.

Not at the same time obviously, just giving an idea what kind of load I intend to put on it. It's going to need to be 240v and at least capable of 30amp constant if I'm understanding correctly, I currently run my equipment off my dryer plug; 30a breaker.

I'm new-ish to this stuff but trying to learn everything I can.

I'm wanting my toys to start making me money now that I've got some practice and am satisfied with my welds. The thumbs up from my 808 buddy has given me the confidence to start doing odd jobs.

What's a pretty reasonable rate to charge an hour for fully mobile welding or in the least house calls?

$50 for the first then $30/hr?

Currently I have everything I would need to fab mild and stainless wherever I have 240v 30a.

You are way low. I won't even turn on my shop lights for less than a $100 job.

 Wow! I mean for a certified lifetime professional I can see that, but as an upstart greenie?

I'm trying to start low end so I can hopefully drum up so business, but at the same time don't want to be selling myself short.

Hoping to make some quick money so I can pick up a spool gun for aluminum where the better money is at and then ultimately a push pull TIG.

You need bare minimum 7200 watts (volts * amps = watts). I'd recommend something with a bare minimum 10% overhead on top of that.

This is the smallest I'd even consider: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Champio...ric-Start-Portable-Generator-100297/301793638

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Champio...ric-Start-Portable-Generator-100110/206840904

This has a 50amp/240v plug which might be more suited. I didn't look up the duty cycle on your equipment though.
