The front ones are the worst. I just did mine (east coast truck for 5yrs) and the front ones had to be cut out. Rears came out okay but I replaced them anyway.

Not much to look at but bumper mount almost done just need to drill holes to mate with stock locations on the front. And weld some flat stock across the top and maybe bottom for more support

Clamped the winch mount on to see how we were looking and maybe thinking weld it to the new mount instead of bolting because we will be building off it and more than likely will take more than one good hit in it's life.

We did some Practice holding size between bends with a shorter piece.

Jon had that digital angle finder that was recommended in this thread and it was nice to have

Got to play with the new plasma just a bit today. Started with a 10’ folding chair cart, cut it up, and glued it back together. It will be my metal work cart / table and will have space for my mig, tank, plasma, grinder, hood, cords, etc.

Got the frame pieces together, but probably won’t get back to it until next weekend at the earliest.

I did crank up the heat on my mig and it was hot! I think the angle is 3/16”

I wish I would have cleaned the material better and maybe turned down the heat. I blasted through a few spots on the legs. Also glad I had my respirator on, i def caught a wiff or two.

Nice. It's about what I would have done too. Turn up the heat and blast thru the paint. I'm not entering most of my project in the county fair.

Should I cut off this overhang from this frenched shock tower before I burn everything in?

Part of me says yes for cosmetics, part of me says no and be lazy since the axle will never get close enough to have clearance issues .

Dirt Designs makes these. There was a single gusset for the rear mount also but I couldn't get the shape to fit mine at all so I didn't install it. At least the front is done, better than nothing.

Yeah man! I like to practice every chance I get. I'm still using just 100% co2 and will probably stick with that since I bought a 20lb bottle. It lasts a long time.

A co2 bottle, like the ones we use to fill tires, holds about 8x's as much as a compressed air tank like an argon mix, iirc. Though, I still want to try an argon mix and see what the difference is in weld quality.
