had my shifter break on my atv, was going to buy a new one and all the atv stores around here were closed. So I stuck a piece of 1/4" cold steel rod in and welded it closed. Then I lose the stupid bolt that holds the shifter to the machine somewhere between my shop and house which is about 350' and all dirt driveway. So I manufactured a "bolt" with another piece of the cold steel rod...finally got it back together and fixed...:anonymous:

Well I squeezed out a bit more on the metalwork cart. Got the wheels burned on, a shelf cut, and some free hand cut ‘flat stock’ to use as crossmembers for othe shelves.

You probably can’t see too much of a difference from the last photo, but it rolls!

I’m already loving my cheap *** self for buying non-locking castors....

The tank will go in the ‘back’

Any ideas on what to use for hooks / to hang leads and cords? I was going to just cut some more strips and bend them, but I wouldn’t mind spending a few bucks on some hooks for convenience.

Also, I have been getting a lot of dross on the cuts. I read that means I’m cutting too slow, or the amperage is too high. Any other thoughts?

That dross is pretty normal. I seat it off by hitting it with the hammer on the back side. Pops right off clean. No grinding needed.

I would not call that excessive dross. Just like with welding, cutting amperage and cutting speed go hand in hand. With practice you will learn to adjust your cutting speed to how the material is cutting. You will be able to "hear" how the cut is going.

Get some time with that machine to get used to it.

One other thing you never want to do go cheap on Casters that leads to no end of frustration

You will need an "co2 to argon" type adapter to attach the argon regulator to the co2 bottle.

    Like this: https://www.usaweld.com/Gas-Connector-Adapter-p/99910-ar.htm

    My M211 has a setting for using 100% co2.

Oh, I believe a 75/25 bottle will not need that adapter. The bottles that need that adapter are "liquid to air" type co2 bottles.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm waiting until I find an argon bottle for sale on craigslist or something.

Hahaha I’m just saying that I thought that one was extra pretty

That was a smaller part that I was welding up so I like to turn the part so the joint is vertical cuz I fee like my welds come out nicer when I weld vertically. So it was just a down, up, down, up, down kind of a pattern

I actually was given a acetylene bottle I took to the gas place and traded it for a C25 bottle. Just had to buy the gas in it.
