I love mine. It speeds thing up a lot and creates a very accurate coping for the tubes. You looking at a particular one?

Not really. I actually got the HF one, it wasn't that bad just the hole saws were shit and I never got to buy quality ones, plus I'm working work 2" tubing and the hole saw wasn't just deep enough... Which one do you have?

I have the Eastwood Tube Notcher. It works great. I buy either the Kobalt hole saws or Lenox hole saws. I’ve built 63 sets of sliders this year so far and I’m still on the same hole saw haha.

Here’s a link to the notcher

Probably a dumb question.. but can you tell if steel is cold or heat rolled by the color?

Cold rolled typically does not have mill scale iirc (been a while since I have touched any)

I would think hot rolled would be just fine for what we do. It's cheeper too.

Just because, let's be honest, we are welders.

Anything I might overlook when getting ready to my sliders when they come in? Figuring it should be straight forward.

Well, it's nothing to look at, but I completed my very first "thing" and it's a bed bar! :D

I can weld all day on scraps and coupons, but as soon as it's something of substance, my weld quality goes south for the winter. Practice, practice!

Haha. I had a kid complain the gsp was too big. First, I told him he was wrong. But after he was sweating it for a bit I showed him how to make custom spacers by hitting said rod with a hammer. Haha.

Definitely pinched my fair share of rod tacking those branches up . Whoops. Haha

Just be mindful of the fuel lines (and the fuel tank I suppose) on the inside of the frame on whichever side of the truck it is (to early to remember lol). But like ya said...pretty straight forward
