    I thought yours were DOM?

Is HREW much cheaper than DOM?

Nope My sliders are HREW square 2x2" inner rails and HREW round 1.75 outer rails. DOM is an upgrade. For me HREW is less then half the price of DOM

A-ha! I don't really need the strength of the DOM anyway. I might need to check local prices on HREW then, if they can get that.

got a lincoln weldpak 100hd for 200, almost new from a hookup at pawn shop. i think i did ok. I already have some gas to convert eventually, but for now will stick with flux core.

Just learning to weld, but decent enough that i had a quick job repairing some tables for the local dunkin doughnuts.

looking at different cart designs, something with a handle, cord wrap, minimal storage for dikes/tips/spare shield etc etc, and maybe a hook for my helmet (harbor freight auto darkening).

Good deal! I bought mine almost new at a pawn shop for the same thing. It's a great little welder to learn on. You do realize you will lose some of the thickness you can weld when you add the gas to it, right?

I wanted to make a cart for mine but I decided as much as I transported it it was easier to just lug it around without having to deal with the cart rolling in the truck. Of course now I have a big welder and it's on wheels and it's not that bad. lol

Picked this little guy up today for $45 brand new in the open box. Seems someone broke the fitting between water trap and the blaster. All I have to do is get the broken fitting out and put a new one on. Win!

the dead man valve on those units are garbage they blow out so fast but for what you payed for it I'd say its a good deal. Just be ready to buy a new dead man valve every few hundred lbs media you use.

Picked up the millermatic 211 and getting back into welding. This was my 3rd set of beads after 6 yrs. My question is when welding two different size such as 1/8 to 1/4 do I run the settings for the 1/4 in. and move faster so I do not burn through the 1/8 in. ?

sort of, run settings for 1/4" but favor the thick stuff so you don't burn through. Just barely nip the puddle into the thin stuff. If you still burn through turn the heat down a bit.
