What about 120/208V

 

That only happens when people do things dumb at home and wire 208/220 VAC circuits for some reason with a receptacle for 120VAC so very against code .

It happens when people buy or rent new places . Now and then

When even the slightest doubt break out your meter

 

I was just kidding around with your statement, about voltages. It was a confusing statement, as im an electrician and wasnt sure what you ment by it. 120/208v was the norm back in the day for commercial, now days its still around but 277/480v is more common as most commercial lighting is 277v as its more efficient. 480 can be stepped down easly to 208.
120/ 240v is less common in most areas buts its around, watch out for the high leg.

I like to keep this thread basic so new welders feel comfortable asking questions.

Craig gets to see both sides of the equation. Lots if commercial and lots of consemer types. No fault on him, he just needs to vent after seeing the same issue come up repeatedly.

I get venting. I had to read his post a few times to understand what he was trying to say. I wish I had his skills. I'm a newb when it comes to welding.

@Shmellmopwho finally got around to practicing my vertical welding again. Had my 210 set at 5/50 and welding down. Here are my results. Top half is vertical down and the bottom half is some overhead I was trying out. Seems as though your advice was spot on. Thanks for all the help and input!

 

Heck yeah dude! No problem!! Looking good! I love the sound it makes when you get it dialed into just the right spot haha

I did my first set of Lexus GX470 sliders for a customer and man they were short little baby sliders lol. My Tacoma long bed sliders are 95” long and the Lexus ones were only 64” long haha.

I have a 2x3 table and a 3x4 table that I put together to be 3x6

I also got the leg and caster kits too.

These literally are the best bang for your buck. I love having the holes. Makes clamping and jigging things soooo easy!!

 

Was that a buying factor vs building one?

 

Absolutely! Loved all the 5/8” holes all over the table which is great for clamping and hogs and stuff and if I wanted to make one myself it would have taken forever!

 

Are you buying the tank? Renting? Or getting one filled?
