    Exactly.

I don't know that's true. It takes different skills for sure. Maybe brazing requires a greater degree of precision?

Not sure if it's more skill. I'd have to think about that some more since it's been a long time since I brazed anything.

Well probably not more skill, but precision for sure. Keeping metal hot, placing the rod correctly so it will flow correctly and make a connection. One little mistake and it won't stay bonded and strong. I just want to do it because it's quite cheaper than welding and I don't really need welding for the projects I want to do.

Lucky mother fucker. I'd like to think I'm a decent migger, tried my hand a tig and I definitely need more practice.

TIG has so many variables it can be overwhelming. Especially someone like me who has never spent even a second in a welding class. And now all the new inverter technology is adding more variables. LOL

One thing I have to say about tig though, is that it is almost easier in a sense when you understand how to do it because you are in complete control of basically all the factors, heat, speed, rod feed, etc.

Meh, maybe on simple stuff on a bench. MIG is way easier to deal with in awkward or shitty positions.

Yeah I guess you're right. Plus mig is a lot quicker as well.

I have not welded in approximately 15-20 years since I useto work for Ingall’s Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS. I was hired for two yearsas an apprentice (structural welder) and was taught how to weld and also sentme to school. After the two years as an apprentice I became a 1stclassman (that’s what they were called back then) for another three years untilI moved back to Louisiana. Really would like to get back into re-learning howto weld again. Looking at the following from northern tools and wanted youropinion on the products (CHRISTMAS PRESENT). Thanks

I have the HH210 (the old one, mine doesn't have the MVP, but I am an electrician so finding a 220 plug isn't hard for me) and it is a great machine. I've had it for 5 or 6 years Id say

Go for a reconditioned HH on Amazon. They have the 190 for $500 and a lot of people have had great luck with them. That's what I plan on doing this winter. Either the 140 or the 190, but I'm leaning towards the 190 since I have 220V in my garage already.

I noticed the Northern Tool unit does not come with a gas regulator. If you want to run gas, you'll need that. Cyberweld has the same unit with a regulator for $100 more.
