Anything welding

This one is becoming more than I thought. Fabricating some handles here (for the firepit I haven't finished). Always finding ways to learn.

 

Btw this is my current project. Not sure I posted these before.

If any of y’all tig... it’s tricky getting a feel for the right amount of metal to feed it for the root lol

The root is the only thing I struggle with lol. Annoying as fuck considering it’s the most important bead.

 

Whatcha having trouble with?

 

Reinforcement. Feeding enough wire so it isn’t flush but not too much as well and then keeping it consistent. Want that wedding band look inside.

 

I thought it was easy with a sharp drill bit and cold chisel and 3lb hammer! Took like 30 min.

 

How long did it take you all together?

 

About 2.5 hours, with a friends help. While he was getting the truck taken apart, I was welding the alignment tabs together and getting them prepped.

Coulda been faster but I got them all tacked and did a test fit with the lca to make sure everything was kosher. Because those are never coming off now.

 

Damn a lot better than when mine were done. Took us 6 hrs total. Granted we had to make 2 runs to the dealer become of the cam being destroyed....

 

Thanks, I'm hoping to finish it today. Decided to make a removable top to have the option of using it as a grill as well.

 

So this one is due for some hydro test, right?

Looks good. I think this is one of my favorite things to weld.

 

Yeah I liked it. I think my favorite is the bamf relocate, both welding it together and onto the truck itself. Cutting stock mounts off sucks ass though.
