    not welding but goes hand in hand, anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive tubing bender? ive seen the HF bender but after reading up on it is sounds completely worthless. if it makes any difference im bending 1.5" .12 walled hrew

    I think the Northern one is pretty much the same as Harbor Freight.

    which one? they have more than one design.. manual,hydrolic? I know they have one that is exactly like the HF one.. but I dont like that design..

    The two places have the same 12/16 T benders, the compact and bench benders are also the same too.

    Northern has a couple of hydraulic benders that are $700. Is one of those you're referring to?

    would it be bad to make a jig out of plywood and heat the metal just a bit to make it easier to form around the jig?

    I see now.. Nevermind I wasnt looking at the OD capabilities of the bender..
    The ones that will do 2"-3" are basically just like the HF ones..

    Im sure it will work, but may be difficult to heat the metal and not torch the wood at the same time. :D

    anyone know of some tie down brackets that could be welded on to an all pro style bed rack? Did a bunch of searches and didn't find anything

    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    Maybe with solid stock but you would collapse the tube if you just heated it and tried to form it around a jig. You need a tubing bender to bend tube properly.
