I reallygot to weld some shit for my truck, boss keeps telling me to build bumpers but I'm lazy lol. Only thing I've done is 10 minute brackets for my redneck roof box and behind grill lights.

I've been welding for 12 years. Pretty well rounded but haven't welded to much pipe in my career. Red seal, CWB...

Here's some of my work from the past. I'd love to help if anyone has any questions.. Hopefully I can contribute!

I use a lot of different masks depending on what I'm welding. I've got the speedglas with adflo which I love.. An old optrel auto.. But my favorite is still the cheap 30 dollar selstrom with a gold plated lens.

Looks good the heat is even and nice travel I personally would do smaller staggered stitches to avoid warping but all an all it looks good.

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
Added a couple recovery points to my front bumper. I thought the welds were pretty good. Any tips to make them better?

looks pretty good, Im assuming you had the heat all the way up?

All I would say is avoid having bolt flanges sit on part of the bead:p

Looks a little cold to me. Looking at it, it's hard to tell tho.

How does the recovery point integrate with the bumper? Are they welded to the front of the bumper or are they T-shaped and poke through the bumper?

Yeah heat was cranked way up. It's 1/2" plate so I beveled it and made two passes on it. And the bolt will be shifted a bit once I have the time.

Yeah it could've used a little more heat. The bumper is bolted to the frame using three 17mm bolts on each frame end. I basically boxed around the end of the frame with 3/16" plate and then welded the 1/2" recovery points onto the forward facing piece of the frame box.

I bought one of there 3 in 1, tig arc and plasma cutters. The tig and arc work great, the plasma cutter only worked for a minute. And the lotos cutters use there own consumables which arent the cheapest. After all that I would encourage you to save a little more and get a name brand such as a lincoln or thermal dynamics or sumpin like that.

The first thing i see is if you had the heat cranked way up your welder is too small for 1/2" plate. I dont see much penetration into the plate. Also you just welded it right to the font of the bumper? If im reading what you said right they don't go through the bumper and weld from behind it as well?
