Been messing with the settings a bit. I think I'm getting it dialed in way better than what the auto settings were giving me.
    Almost there. Thoughts/critiques?

I had to replace the battery in mine last summer. Works great again.

The battery in mine was a PITA to find. Ended up at Batteries Plus and bought four so hopefully it's like a decade before I need to do that again.

Hahaha I’m not even gonna bother in stores for mine. Mostly because I buy everything online. Mines a CR2450 and doesn’t look very uncommon. Just removed it.

So many new wannabe Tig Welders .

Best non warranty claim of last week asking for warranty

My welder has an Erratic arc. What do you mean a Contaminated Tungsten is not Warranty it should be.

The New To Tig welder had no idea The Tungsten needs to be kept clean nor there are different kinds .

seems the online site neglected to advise him of those facts

After taking the picture of my tombstone Lincoln welder the other day I realized how much I don’t need it. Put it for sale last week. A man agreed to buy it for a price after low balling me and then us agreeing on a price.

He was supposed to be here last Sunday at 1:30. At 2:05 he text me and says “I’m just gone buy a new one unless you make me an offer I can’t refuse” I respond “I’m good”.

Monday he text me and says he can come get it Tuesday for $25 less than we agreed on for Sunday. I told him I didn’t need to sell it and told him I’d take $25 more than the original price. He didn’t like that. I told him have a good day.

The man who bought it today, he and I have never met but we got to talking and have many mutual friends. He didn’t know how to stick weld so I showed him and gave him a handful of rods. He also paid me $10 more than the other guy agreed to.

I bought the welder 10+ years ago, used it and sold it for $60 more than I bought it for.

FWIW - I've seen 2450's at Walmart and Walgreens. They're used by the window sensors for my home alarm system.

I applaud you for sticking to your guns! That first "buyer" was just rude and disrespectful of your time.

Exactly. Had we not talked on the phone and he showed up when he said he was going to I would have handled it differently. I don't have time to play.

I need a cart. I had to do this a few weekends ago, and ended up putting the welder on one of those wooden mover thingy's pushing it along the floor while I had the gun and ground clamp wrapped around my neck, holding the bottle B/C I was too lazy to disconnect everything and switch over to flux core.

    u-OQKBSQu4wi6oUk2hrxl1cY0kksZO3Gnwf-o6Uh_a54d4cee8ab7f4811a76db301a5ad10972c53743.jpg

Don't look too close at the weld on the back side. Someone forgot to tun on the gas...:anonymous:
That's the Drain plug out of my front diff. She stripped out completely, so I bought a cheapie 10mm allen, cut it down to have maximum engagement in the plug and my socket ( with just enough room for weld )
less then 10s of welding, and she came right out easy peasy!

Many Many thanks to the pro's in this thread who share their wisdom and knowledge for FREE! I Disconnected the battery before welding, and felt confident that by doing so my Truck's computer would be just fine. Without this thread, I would have been 2nd guessing my self the entire time.

 I also have a new found appreciation for those who weld on vehicles, what a PITA it was to clean that bolt and the spot for the ground clamp, moving the welder, getting in position, etc....
