@koditten that was my thought as well, stock is thin and can take a lot of abuse.

@Shmellmopwho I'll definitely use DOM. 1/4'' seems like it's overkill but it would certainly add peace of mind. Might just go the overkill route.

    Nice username btw

Just started looking at cyber weld website for a welder. They advertise low prices. Anybody else brought from them? Thoughts? Maybe seems to good to be true?

I'll be interested to see what happens when the time comes. I'm probably over thinking it. So far I'm good, have no idea how close I am to running out though.

Ah so it's been a while since it's been traded for sure. Makes sense cause the welder was made in 09.

A cheap bathroom scale under your tank works good for tracking usage.

Weigh the empty can, then put the new can on the scale on the cart. The scale will always be under the tank. The difference in weight is how much gas you have left.

It sucks running out on a Friday night.

First repair held for two years. It didn’t break from a lack of grease that’s for sure.

I did a root pass with a 6013 and capped it with a 7018. It’s not pretty but I learned to weld from dad on the farm.

Any time I’ve “traded” bottles at my LWS they just swap it out regardless of whether its from them. A couple times I have had to pay for the hydro cost when it was due in order to swap out on the spot. That was only when I bought used bottles and had to get them filled. This was back when I had a mobile welding setup. Now I just use small bottles for my TIG machine at the home shop.

That machine looks like it needs some quality time with an arc gouger to get buttoned back up so it doesn’t keep cracking
