Well my wife has been after me to build her a fire pit and i've been a little slow at work so i came up with this fire pit/grill. Looks nice on our patio and i think it will come in handy when we go camping. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I used rustoleum high heat grill paint. Says no primer needed. I wasnt able to sand blast it but wire brused the hell out of it and wiped with thinner. Maybe it will hold up pretty well.

    Very nice grill
Is it easily portable for one person or a few people?

That looks like a nice heavy pit. Two man lift?

What about the paint on the grilling surface? That shit can't taste good on a ribeye.

The pit its self is 3/16 plate, the legs are thin wall tubing. It turned out heavier than i thought but one person can carry pretty easily. Two people would be better though.

No paint on grilling surface, just the 1x1 angle frame. Lol i dont think paint would make my steak taste very good. Just wiped with cooking oil. It turned out alot nicer than i expected, hope it cooks good. I put a 3/4 drain plug in the bottom to clean ashes and to provide air if using charcoal if i need it. With wood i dont think ill need it. Hopefull ill take it for a test drive this weekend.

I noticed the plug, nice detail.

Cooking oil makes it look painted, LOL.

So here is what I finished making for the front of our Dodge 2500 to maneuver our trailer in tighter areas during fair time. Also to mount a portable winch on the front end for recovery.
Side plates our out of 3/4" plate. The box tubing is 3"x3"x 1/4" wall tubing. The front plate gusset is out of 3/8" plate. IT is bolted to the main front frame with 11/16" bolts 2 on each side.

Any opinions on a hobart handler 190? I found one used (but practically brand new) locally for ~ 6 bills

And how do you like it JD? Do you think $600 is a good price on one that's used but basically brand new?

Also comes with some wire and a tank.

Had to reinforce my angle grinder tool as the fingers would bend before it loosened the nut. Overkill, sure. But it worked!

I usually do it by hand too but the flap disc caught an edge and got super duper tight like a tiger.

Yea dude sold it before I had a chance to grab it. I just bought a new 190 from Northern Tool.

I'm new to welding so dumb question....what kind of gas or mixture of gas will I need to have my tank filled with?
