My local one stopped selling them in stores and they couldn’t even order one to store for me for some reason. I had to have it shipped to my house. Luckily shipping was a whole $6. And they still have the welders in store on display to feel and check out.

Are you looking to get one for occasional light usage? Or plan on using a little more regularly?

Id recommend the miller 211 if welding is something you think you might start doing more often. Great machine and the blue/red customer service is amazing. For welding up to 3/8 you’re definitely going to want 240

Not welding related, but I figured y’all could answer my question. Got a new to me air compressor yesterday. Charge air pro, 5hp, 20 gallon. Worked just fine when I picked it up, got home, cranked it up and of course air leak. At the regulator, I start getting a leak from the hole on top(pictured below, with the adjustment knob removed). I took the plastic piece off, and cleaned the little pancake looking rubber gasket with copper ring in the middle.

I’m assuming I need to replace the pancake rubber gasket thing below the plastic. Also assuming that RTV in the hole where I’m getting the leak isn’t a great idea, I’m not above it, but if it’s not going to hurt anything besides an already busted regulator then I’ll try.

    Any thoughts?

I'm a newbie also and recently bought a Titanium 170, absolutely love it. It's an inverter type welder, so it's about half the weight of the transformer types, which I really like. Do yourself a favor and plan on using gas, much cleaner welds and no splatter compared to flux core.

I had to order online; if you're not in a hurry, wait for it to be on sale. Normally it's $520 but I got it on sale for $450, which is a steal for what it does. It was on backorder when I bought it and had to wait a few weeks, but it was worth the wait. It can do 120 or 240 volt; the chart says it can go up to 1/4" thick metal, but I would bet it can handle 3/8" (assuming the 30 amp circuit I have it on can handle it, that would probably be the limiting factor).

Looks like it'll do 3/8 just fine, as long as you have the appropriate wire in there.

I am guessing in transport the regulator got bumped or the vibration caused the diaphragm just to crack from old age

Myself I would just replace the regulator that is me

Got a new regulator yesterday. While taking the old one off, I found that I’d overlooked a cap on the bottom of it. Took that off, cleaned the best that I could in there where the plunger rides. Pop it back to together, and bingo bango Dodge Durango I’ve got a working regulator again.

What does oxygen have to do with this? Assuming oxygen would allow you to maintain an arc at 20v, I imagine it would be like a bad cutting torch.

    Reserected from the dead.

The point is the manufactures of different compressed welding gases, use a different connector for different gases.

There is no way to hook up an O2 cylinder to your MIG welder and thus blow yourself to smithereens.

The picture I posted is the gas line from a tig torch. That's how it came from the manufacturer.

Made an AUX fuse panel. This is V3, V1 & V2 had their issues that were solved but cutting and re-welding various parts.

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Welding thin gauge metal is tricky! My hats off to whomever does it on a regular basis.

This is the only pic where you can actually see the welds.
I did a combination of straight pull, and cursive "e" Not pretty, but it will do
I key holed the mounting slots to make install easy. Worked out really well.

"...A grinder and paint makes me the welder I aint...." :D

Between 14 & 16. ( but I think its 14.... ) I nabbed it out of the scrap bin at my local metal yard, so not really quite sure.
