I take it you've never had shards of metal dug out of your eye/s?
Are had your ears ring 24/7 for years without stopping?

That's it? I've had it done 14 times over 25 years, most of those times were with safety glasses on.

Once was when I was a child, no idea how the metal got in there. The second time I had glasses and a full face shield on and it still found its way in. So now I put goggles on every time I'm cutting or grinding, no exceptions. Metal removal isn't very fun.

It isn't. I try and do a lot better than I used to. It has affected my vision, especially in my left eye where 2/3rd's of it has been. You only get one set of eyes, keep them protected!

Same with hearing! I make it a habit of popping in some ear pro whenever I plan on doing any cutting or grinding and just leave them in. Shit's loud.

Bluetooth ear muffs are the best PPE I've ever bought. They're comfy and the soothing music makes you want to wear them.

I wear those for overnight diaper changes and feedings when my 4 week old thinks I'm literally murdering him. It helps me stay sane.

Maybe I’m just the nerd here but I never cut/grind/drill without eye pro, if it’s loud I’ll wear ear pro every time. To be honest though, the only reason I wear good shop clothes is because I got tired of burning holes in my good clothes. Haha.

The mental image here is perfect. Baby crying bloody murder, wife hiding around be corner, and @EatSleepTacos blissfully changing a diaper while lost in the melodies of Kenny G

JK I'm all about PPE now. That pic I shared was from a while ago. Immediately afterwards I realized how stupid we were being.

Same. Recently added gloves to my getup.

I'm generally very careful with tools, especially which ways my cuttings are going . But I would be lying if I said this hole in my sweatshirt wasn't from an absent minded grinder fire.

Yeah it's no fun having it dug out, or your ears ringing (tinnitus is a bitch!)
Crazy when I've had it dug out of my eyes it was when I was wearing safety glasses too, it hit the bottom of the brim of my hat and ricocheted down into my eye.
