Was it @koditten who said they made tie down points with half cut Dom tubing? We’re you using .120 wall?

    It's not quite 3/16 " thick.

I'll be honest, as long as I have been dealing with iron, I have difficulties keeping the different thicknesses straight.

I doesn't help that the industry switches between " gauge", "schedule" and "decimal".

Pricks. Peeps with dyslexics must really hate it more.

Yeah looks really close to .120 wall. I will be using 1" 3/4 so it will span a smaller area and hopefully be stronger too. I am just using it to secure a 400 lb dual sport so I think it should be more than adequate.

Gauge tends to be sheet metal. Schedule tends to be pipe for plumbing, and decimal is better than fractions especially for machine shops.

Yep, and the trailer industry uses all those measurement units.

I'm not sure I need something that serious though since this is just interim until I try the risk racing or the mx mounts system in the bed. Leaning towards a perm mounted MX mount in the bed on the side I plan on having the bike all the time. Either that or going risk racing (larger initial investment and get extra base plates so I can bias the bike left right or center. Really trying to get away from straps.

Really stoked. Just scored a Millermatic 252 from community college swapping out machines for $500.

My moto carrier uses turnbuckles and works great and fast.

Youll be far less in and have the adjustability still: Add 2 turnbuckles and carabiners

What type of anti-spatter do you folks use? I want something that can be easily clean and will not affect paint if I was to spray it afterward.

I'm looking at Simple Green anti-spatter and Weld Kleen 350. Your opinion?

I got my table yesterday. I started pimping it last night, and made more progress this evening.

Bought some 5/8" bolts. Bought both types and the ones with some unthreaded area definitely work best. Much tighter fit.
    upload_2021-1-22_20-10-15.jpg

Have an idea for my casters (ordered). I am going to mount them to the leg, but leave the levelers in place. That way, I can still use the levers to raise it up, and the casters will be elevated above the floor. I will post update after I mount them.

Also, have the beginning of idea for making some extensions for welding longer items. Will share later.

Are you using flux core? Very little spatter using solid core with gas

With that said, I still never used anti spatter when I used flux core. A quick scrape with a wide putty knife removed the majority of BB's.
