This is the harbor freight ram and it does have a spot to use it manually. I've never tried it though.

I'll keep everyone posted. I have the paid membership so there was a $100 discount on the welder. $899 + $120 for the 2 year replacement warranty.

You can manually use the harbor freight ram, but it will be painfully slow and more work than using the manual ratcheting setup. Good thing is they don’t take much air to run.

It sounds like you already have it sorted out, but just in case Here’s the load chart for welder I’m running. It’ll give you an idea of the power draw.

Upgraded the gun on the Lincoln to this HTP flex head.

Also I bought my double cab used and didn't notice it didn't have the center headrest before I drove it off the lot. Wanted to mount a mirror to keep an eye on our soon to be here baby girl so I made this thing up really quick. Definitely not pretty but it works lol.

Those mirrors are awesome. I finally added one the other week to keep an eye on my 3 month old and it’s nice being able to see if he’s awake or asleep. Also helps me see to put the pacifier back in

Yeah for sure, we wanted one for our first born and thats when we realized the center head rest was gone lol. So instead my wife just always rode in the back with him haha. Hopefully this helps!

Pimping out my Klutch welding table I got two weeks ago. Got it on the casters, cut an expanded metal shelf, added a HF magnet bar for holding small accessories, and got a start on an extension tray adding another 18".

I made the lower frame and put the casters inboard so I could keep the leveling feet in case I wanted to raise it up/casters off the floor. I am still going to cut out some of the extension table surface for weight reduction and additional clamping options.

Too cold in the garage to paint the wheel base, so that'll have to wait until March or April.

    Starting condition two weeks ago:

Since holes are spaced evenly, the extension table can be moved to any side.

    Nice.
The Titanium line seems to be pretty solid for being HF. I’ve been happy with my Titanium 170.

    Agreed.

The new Vulcan and Titanium units are very good quality.

I don't know why they even carry the Chicago Electric unit anymore? Those just drag down the HF name.

Most likely contractual agreements. Harbor Freight has really upped their game though since Craftsman is basically worthless now.

yup. You can get stuff built to most any quality level you want to pay for (including testing / monitoring), whether overseas or domestic. The “cheap xyz crap” attributions usually have more to do with cost cutting / cheapest source than it has to do with the nation something was built in.

There’s of course also a lot of nuances to this beyond what I want to type on my phone, so I’ll just leave it there.

I'm making a few bed bars with some dirty steel, trying to clean it up. Will I need to sand blast before painting? It'll be cleaned on ends to at least weld. Now I know why it was so cheap, getting brand new clean stuff monday.

These would do the job well. Perfect for knocking off all that surface rust without taking any metal away or leaving any swirls.
