Just plug and play. You remove the harness from the head unit and plug it into this cable, which plugs directly into the head unit. Run the switch wires and connect to the existing switches. If you want the rear camera switch to illuminate with your interior lights you can tap into one of the OEM switch wires, but that is optional.
