Anytime backup troubleshooting

I’ve just installed this system in my 2022 TRD OR. It seems to have disabled the rear camera view (black screen) either when toggled or put in R. Doing a search I’ve seen it may be a relay/relay harness issue. My question is how can this be determined audibly? Is the relay supposed to click audibly when toggling the switch back and forth? Mine does not. Another observation is when toggled to front, both amber LEDs are illuminated but when toggled to rear, only the rear amber LED is illuminated. I’ve double checked my connections (soldered), verified the yellow RCA mapping and even put back the stock harness to confirm it’s ok in factory form.

Any feedback/advice is appreciated while I wait for a response from anytimecamera.com

thanks I’ll read up on that but I’m leaning towards that not being the issue. I have the 2020+ kit from amytimecamera.com which integrates to my OEM JBL nav and backup cam.

 

The issue may be with the diode on the switch that defeats the rear camera feed so that you can use a front camera.

I found the best solution to be removing the system from behind the dash and placing it in the trash where anytimebackupcamera.com belongs.

 

bad diode and or connection you think? After all it’s just stuffed into the terminals.

 

Did you indeed purchase the correct version for you Taco, or did they send you an erroneous version?

 

yes as far as I know it’s correct as the bag clearly states 2020+ I have a 2022 so assume it should apply.

 

Can you post a pic of the harness side to the head unit?

Not yet. Left it in case it was an easy fix. Being the rear sensors work (not the camera) and the front camera is working fine it’s still offering some sort of advantage. I’ll see if I can find or take a photo.

Did your OR come with Panoramic Camera View?

 

Advanced Tech Package I assume? If so then no, just regular TP.

So plain jane then.
Added items provide rear view when switch is selected, as in rear camera view via switch select without having transmission in reverse or front view (select switch) in other position.
Relay handles camera video select.
And your signs are black view on Head Unit when rear view selected on switch or transmission, correct?

I guesstimate that maybe you have the inputs inverted. The ones going to the relay.

 

I’ve done the swap and the problem reversed (saw the back but the front was then black).
