I've seen a lot of posts, but is there a preferred vendor? Thanks!

I bought my front and back kit from runnin 4 tacos. As far as I can tell, it is exactly the same thing as from the website anytimebackupcamera.com.

I downloaded instructions from the anytime website to verify my electrical connections were what r4t does in their install video.

Connect the blue and gray wires per instructions to light up the switch.

I bought the anytime backup camera kit a few years ago, and while it wasn't too difficult to install, the camera was not anywhere in the same league as the factory rear camera and crapped out after a year or so. I bought two different replacements from Amazon and while they work, they have the same issues as the one that crapped out - mainly that the camera produced very low contrast images and was/is very prone to flare if there is any hint of a light in the frame.

I've installed both the camera kit from Anytime and Germes Lab. I prefer the Germes Lab. Much easier to install. Truly plug and play; no splicing, etc. Uses the steering wheel buttons. I especially like the feature that turns on the front camera automatically after you shift from Reverse to Drive. This is really helpful when you are making multi-point turns. No need to push any buttons. The rear and front cameras toggle as you switch gears. Very useful. Love this feature.

Keep in mind the Germes is only compatible with the factory head unit. If you buy from TrailGridPro, there's an option for them to pre-wire and solder the kit for you. That's probably where I'll buy it from after I get a few other things on my list first.

Good to know. So, you could buy a third party head unit and TrailGridPro will wire up a harness that will be plug-n-play for it?

As long as it's compatible with the anytime kit, it will be plug and play. So whatever head unit you buy, do some research first and make sure it's compatible. Some head units may not be compatible but will have extra camera connections so you can directly plug in a third party camera. You won't have an "anytime switch" but the extra camera will be a couple of screen taps away.

Thanks yoeltimeisup. Good info. I'm pretty happy with the setup I have in both trucks but if I ever decide to replace the head units, I'll keep that in mind.
