I would try wiping it down with back to black and a microfiber towel. You could use any kind of vinyl cleaner and it should do the trick.

If it really bugs you that much you could Derp it. Or, maybe apply some vinyl wrap?

Looks almost like a vinyl applique. If you rub too vigorously, you will fade the black, so be careful not to use anything that might melt/smear the blac around.

They are also a pain to replace if you've never wrapped anything before, and we (at my old shop) would use 3m rattle can semi-gloss black on those doors, after rubber wheeling and laquer thinning all the glue off. We usually painted all the appliqués if we went this route though.

On the other hand I guess you could derp it with dip, but the gloss would look weird. I would spray both aplpliques (front&rear) to make them match.

If it's paint, then the prints are probably from touching it before it was dry, and would have to be repainted. If it's vinyl, then you can try a clay detail bar, finest grit, and try to rub it off with soap water.

I wonder who's prints they are.

You say it's your wife's car? Are the prints on the passenger door?

All doors that we close, they are ours from closing them just trying to figure out how to clean them off. Washing doesn't do the trick. Might have to try the back to black but don't want door trim to shine and not rest of it. Idk

have you tried a degreaser? Simple green or straight dawn dish soap? If it were mine I'd hit it with a sealer or wax after you get it clean. It might prevent prints from sticking. Something like Meguires ultimate liquid maybe? You wanna be sure it's a product that is labeled as "will not stain trim".
