And hoods big enough, you could land F-16's on them...

do you have issues with shifting with new gears? do you have to retune when you regear?

No issues shifting, though it seems like I shift earlier and go through the gears quicker. Doesn't seem like I have to wind the engine out as much. Don't need to re tune. Between the gears and larger tires the speedometer was way off. Got a Hypertech Speedo calibrator and that solved that.

Use ECT... the 2.7 is a turd......

ECT makes a difference, albeit not that much... it costs $0.00.... better than nothing...

    Lighter wheels
    Lighter tires
    LCA header

I feel like the biggest 4cly turd feature is the fact there is peddal lag. ECT helps with this, but there have been plenty of peeps who installed a pedal commander and have been happy with the response being more like the old school drive by wire setup. It allows you to have almost immediate response.

I’m thinking more like getting a nice looking custom badge:

    2.7L CI

The CI stands for cast iron block of course. :D

Applies to all 3rd gens, none more so than the V6 with the leaking timing change covers costing thousands to fix if not under warranty lol.

POS Tacomas. I love mine. If I had bought a V6 I’d still love it lol.

They're definitely better than the alternatives in the midsized bracket.

:notsure: STX Ranger super cab looks pretty good, if it was available in Avalanche I think I'd order one. Fox 2.0s 17" black steel wheels from the Bronco AT tires, and a black soft topper. It would be good to go.

I still like the Tacoma even the 3rd gen.

Those eco boost engines have a lot of oil issues, definitely won't take one over a tacoma.

Serious answer: Get unnecessary weight out of the vehicle, and maintain it.

    Yeah... but that rake....

Both my neighbors have F150/F250. They both have had major work. The ranger/bronco were on my list until I talked to them. At least I knew what I was getting with the 4cyl taco

the most unnecessary weight is between the steering wheel and the drivers seat.
