    Hey guys,

I'm thinking about heading out to Anza Borrego tomorrow, been looking at a few videos and looks like a pretty awesome area. Wondering what are some good trails that I can do with out sliders. Planning on getting some in the next coming week or 2, just didn't need them in Guam where I just came from. Planning on heading out really early in the AM from Mission Valley.

Let me know if you guys have any input or experience out there i'd appreciate it. Just gunna be the wife, the pup and myself. Feel free to tag along! It's also a DCLB, from what I hear there are some tight trails that might not allow longer vehicles, not sure though. Mainly looking to get some nice pictures of my truck in the canyons and just see some new stuff. (FYI I like to stop a lot and get pictures :anonymous:)

    Thanks,
    -Jeremy

Not a lot of rock crawling in AB. With your setup, you should be fine. Anything you're unsure of will present itself with enough time and space for you to turn around find another way. Sand and traction will be your biggest obstacles, but the canyon washes are a lot of fun. I'd probably recommend taking a second truck with you just incase, not just for recovery but also for multiplied resources, it'll be really hot tomorrow. The canyons offer some shade in the early morning and late afternoon, but the middle of the day is going to be brutal.

    Good to know!
Definitely didn’t know about the heat since the weather has been decent here in SD. Only been here like a week and a half so still getting used to everything. Used to it being like 90+ everyday with a shit ton of humidity so it’s been nice having this cooler weather.

The dry heat can sneak up on you if you're used to humidity, but you'll be looking at close to or over 100 degrees easy tomorrow with very little shade. Keep that in mind for you and your truck. Running the AC the entire time will make your body feel more comfortable, but you run the risk of overheating.

I would love to go but work on Sunday, along with my birthday just calls for a long weekend
I’m definitely in for the next one. You should take grapevine trail to Anza just to get your feet wet.

Really appreciate the info guys. I'll def be keeping a eye on the heat. Hopefully since i'm trying to go out early I can beat some of it. Planning on being back in SD around 5pm so can't stay out too late.

Awesome vids! From what I hear Pinyon is very fun but also pretty technical. Also I see that "famous" area where you have to squeeeze through the 2 boulders, I might have to pass on that for now lol. not trying to get body damage on my year old vehicle yet haha. Maybe if I had LT, from what I read you need a lot of articulation for that trail. That roll over vid is gnarly. that spotter kind of screwed her/him. Lesson learned I guess. Hope they are okay.

I'll def be going back, just going to get the feet wet tomorrow and see what it's all about lol.

Another fun area is Truck haven hills just West of Salton city Ca . Just head East on S22 towards the Salton sea then left NB on hwy 86 a few miles the left on N Marina drive

Head west on N Marina drive until the pavement ends then enjoy the hundred Thousand acres of trail from easy to extreme

This is the location of the famous long running TDS Safari that's been going on over 60yrs

Definitely can get hot! I remember being out there pretty lost on a tight rocky trail, 100+ outside and ac on full blast.

Back in the early 90's my old 4wd club took full size trucks up / down Heart attack hill

Just was cruising around and went off a trail from fish creek wash lol. Was trying to get to diablo drop off but the trail got pretty sketchy and clearly wasn’t correct. Been out there so many times I should have known lol

    Going back there for sure!

I love Anza, I've got some pretty cool trails out there. There's so much to see and do. Let me know if you wanna hit some trails sometime.

Anyone been there recently? I plan to go out there the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Maybe camp one night. All I really want to do is fish creek/sandstone until “the squeeze” and then head back. I have a 2018 OR 2wd so not looking for anything crazy. No compressor so I would rather not air down
