    What kind of tires?
Also when first entering the Anza Borrego Ocotillo Wells area they have mapbooks at the ranger station/visitors center!

Not sure what phone you have but check out the app store for some offline trail maps, on my Android I got "My Trails" and used the map titled "OpenStreetMap". It's had everything I needed for Anza, and it's free, works great offline with just the phone GPS turned on. I've got a few pins I dropped of cool places we went that I'd like to do again. I'm sure there are better apps but my God it takes forever to sort through them & set them up.

Check out Avenza Maps too. You can download pdf maps from the parks themselves and most official maps will magically show your gps over the park maps. I'm checking out the map for anza right now and it's great. Also free. Found it in the map store within the app.

I had their app but didn't see my position on the maps, it was just a glorified Thomas Bros guide. Who knows. I have $25 app credit from XMas I should pull the trigger on a legit map app.

    This thread is informative.

@adadandhistruck - did you go up sheep canyon campground on your pre-runner? I am thinking about going but my 4wd Rubicon guys say it is not possible on 2wd. I would like to prove them wrong.

You should be fine. The only sections that might make you be more cautious are the 2 or 3 water-crossings near the beginning of the Lower Coyote Canyon trail and then a short rocky climb after that. For the water, get a little momentum just in case. For the rocks, if you take it slow and air down enough, you'll make it.

The first two water crossings when we were there a month ago you'll probably do fine with. Third and last is a little longer and a little deeper. Still only came maybe half up my wheel though.

I'm still wanting to hear how @adadandhistruck did too........

hey guys! yep i did it in my prerunner last week with no locker (limited slip). Got up to Sheep Canyon without messing things up. Aired down to about 22. It was pretty rough and i followed the lines of an experienced 4x4 driver who also kept his truck in 2wd to make sure i can do it. Another prerunner was already up there, although he had a locker. stay on the skinny pedal and use good lines. go with someone who knows this trail and can help if you get stuck. warning: anza is insanely packed right now. expect 2+ hour lines just to get into the park this weekend.

Here are my pics. I didn't get a chance to hit any other trails since we did some exploring around town.

Someone walk me through the dangers of not doing it? Should I go have my rear diff serviced?

Is this it on a 3rd gen?

If you don't do it you can potentially suck in water if you submerge it.

Word. I don't think I got this deep but maybe I'll make an appt and have it serviced a way huh? Then afterward run that breather reroute? How would water manifest as symptoms to recognize/look out for?

Just double checked a picture that I took at the probable highest water mark I hit and I'm not close to the top of the pumpkin. Hooray photography. But please still do answer my questions. And thanks!
