Holy shiiiiit. Now I'm confused if there was actually a bear there or if people are joking.

Photos of my bike bag which contained the delicious goodies the bear wanted, aka avocados, bag salad, and shaving cream.

Fuckin' love the internet! I was just poking fun at @BastekFX because he was acting like a goon previously about his fear of being eaten by bears. I think I wa the furriest thing in camp!

We had to sleep in the damn laundry room after all this, literally 20 minutes later two even bigger bears showed up. This is in a KOA in Steamboat, last place I'd have thought we need to worry about bears.

Yea all good suggestions. I always lock my food up at night and don't keep anything in my tent, including chapstick, deodorant, etc. Bears like smells

Haha. I shouldn't have shared my story then! We backcountry camped in grizz country for a month prior to the black bear incident in Colorado. I always try to remind myself we had no issues there because we cooked away from camp and hung our food at night.

Steamboat KOA was just a shitty place with nuisance bears that they didn't care to warn their guests about.

Edit: Although I did catch an adolescent grizzly watching me one night while I was talking to my wife on the phone. I had walked back behind our camp to hang my food bag and saw a brown shape looking at me from the treeline above. Figured it was a deer so didn't think anything of it. Next morning me and one buddy are packing up and we notice something not too far from us and watching. Freaking grizzly. We packed our shit up so quick and hauled ass. The bear didn't mess with us while we were sleeping that night so all I can figure is he was curious about what we were.

Lol nah it's all good. Bears are just curious for the most part. When I first started backpacking I took my pistol but after a while I realized I should be more worried about people than bears. They're just trying to make the best of the shitty situation they were dealt by losing so much habitat. Only natural for them to seek easy meals in urban areas.

That is beautiful country! I've gotten to eat bear a few times when friends have gotten them, it's good stuff! Never gone hunting for them myself.

First time I've ever found it. Supposed to be common here and in PA but it's been so dry lately I doubt I'll find any more
