I feel like the only thing that is SAE J684 rated is the Curt class 3 trailer hitch. Most companies don't produce these bumpers in massive quantities to have them test rated as such.
There is also the ARB rear bumper, but that retains OE tow hitch, so your clearance doesn't really change with it.

    Hey there.

We're in the same boat as the rest of the aftermarket companies. We do not have a certified load rating on our bumpers. The best we can offer is our own personal experience towing expensive 40ft trailers with expensive vehicles inside. Our internal hitch bracing is 0.250" wall 2.50" tubing with 0.250" plate surrounding it. We can perform a finite stress test to see the maximum stress yield. This sounds like a fun experiment to me... haha... Unfortunately I don't see us seeking further DOT or SAE certs.

    Hope this helps!

Really random question. @Apogee Offroad you think it would be possible to mount two tires on the swing outs?

We're hoping to get the new prototype hinges done soon and then we might have some more information to post up!

We wish this hadn't taken so long but between covid, then material shortages, and now these fuel prices we're seeing....feels like we can't catch a break!

Is it possible to keep the factory hitch and still install this bsm bumper?
I currently have to use an 8" drop hitch and they don't make larger that is for my Anderson WD hitch...

Everything, except the ones I haven't done yet ;)
Money is burning a hole in my pocket. Damn near bought a different bumper while waiting for this thing. I'm holding out strong for this though, need that HC!

Same, I'm okay to wait a little longer to re-save for this again.
New wheels, tires, king suspension, icon RXT leafs, C4 bumper & skids, DRT LCA Skids, caliraised sliders (good price locally in Canada), and then upTOP roof racks & 23Zero awning OR this bumper.

I bought their regular bumper on the fact that the dual swing-outs are on the way. Now, I'm trying to deiced if I should sell the bumper and go with some other brand or keep waiting.
I don't have anything bad to say about Apogee. I have no idea how to run a business like theirs. I would like is to be updated more often even if there's nothing to update. "sorry guys, no new news this month."
