Your truck sound pretty sweet. I've already started to save up again, but like you, I'm looking at that awning.

Thanks. I'm pretty set on the awning & walls, having this dual swing out bumper would just add that much more to our base camp set-up. Gonna feel like a kid in a fort or a tree house.

I would also have that much more peace of mind with a spare mounted when we go on trips. That said, I should order a 5th wheel and tire just to store in the garage for now anyways...

Apogee, what is the biggest roadblock? Funds & time for R&D / prototyping?

Where about are you located? If you decide to sell yours before the dual swing out comes out, I might buy it off you. Location depending of course.

Cali Lean, Carolina Squat, where the rear end is lower than the front. I need to update that, lol.

Not sure if a separate swing out option can be added, unless welded on.

    Ugh.. Hi everyone.

To be honest, this hasn't looked promising for a while. Not going to bore you with all of the economical follies of the past few months, but this is for sure on hold.

We're trying to keep our rear bumper production alive at the moment. Thank you guys for keeping this thread alive. It's truly a let down on us seeing everyone so excited about a product that we all want to become a reality. We all understand if we're taking too long to keep you interested in this.

Once we get a working proof of concept for the swings, we're thinking of kicking off a pre-order list. This will spark the production set of the swing outs. We're looking to start work on the proof of concept again possibly this weekend.

I'm going to try and post here every week with anything new we've got going on.

More progress has been made! We're working on the new spindle setup and internal bracing. This is the new passenger side swing. Both are now mirrored for a more modular set up.

More updates and photos to come possibly this weekend.

    Nice beefy looking swing.

With all the potential added weight to the bumper, is it going to attach at the stock locations only, or is there plans on having a lot more bracing for support?

That looks awesome. Thanks for the update. I’m really looking forward to this swing out set up.

Part of the reason these are taking so long is that we're trying to make these as rigid as the weight will allow.

The first test of these was inadequate in our eyes because it lacked the rigidity we wanted. The bumper itself won't be changed. It has a crazy amount of over-engineered bracing to allow little to no flex with the swing outs on.

Nice, I like to hear that the team is taking the time to over-engineer it. Better over than under.

I assume the little flex is with the swing outs on and loaded?

Correct. The weight was a 37 inch tire on a method wheel and one of us standing on it. I feel like most Tacoma owners don't go past 37's if at all.

It wasn't super flexible, but we want virtually no flex at all. Especially if this thing is going to be bombing down washboard roads.
