Sounds good. Sounds like it doesn't bind that well to the shroud. But that's a good thing then. Will be using jb weld next time :) Just really hoping the leds don't crap out. Had to split my housings 3 times for that and finally gave up and unplugged all the leds. So I'm trying to plan out my next set in hopes it'll be hassle free.

I got the newest version from TRS (The retrofit source) and so far have had very good luck with my rings. No burnt LEDS or issues at all and I leave them on almost all the time when I'm driving. I have 4 rings and I'm so worried that I'll have to pull the headlights apart, again.

You shouldn't open them again with their new ones. Their old ones were COB so heat was the issue. These are hybrids; look of COBs but reliability of SMDs. If anything, you'll be replacing the drivers, much easier to replace!

I ordered the 100 mm shrouds with my Apollo 3.0s (As the TRS site recommended). Any tips on getting them to line up properly? Gonna do the install in a couple weeks so trying to soak in as much info as possible

Haha I'll make sure to do it 30! But I've read some posts about JB Weld Steel Stick working good for the halos inside the shrouds. Is this true, or should I just stick to the original stuff? Going to take my time doing this, just want to be prepared when I actually attempt it.

Steel stick worked great for me. And yes, eyeball it a bunch.

I used regular JB Weld but let it setup a little so it was less runny and more tacky.

What everyone is sayibg. Eyeball it good. It doesn't have to be absolutely perfect, these rings are so bright, they'll shine through all the vents equally. But still eye ball it!

Just use the JB Putty and center it with your eye. It will look fine. Check out post 5 for how they lined it up.

Hi guys, I see this post is old but I'm curently in the middle of my headlight build and wonder if someone can shed some light on the halo size for the Apollo 3.0 shroud. Seems that everyone is getting the 100mm for the inside. But I checked on the TRS web site and they recommend the 110mm. Maybe they just came out with the 110mm size? If that's the case then I'll probably go with that option.
    Thanks

I honestly don't have an answer for you. It's possible that they do have a newer style of LED that fits better with the Apollo 3.0 when using the 110mm vs 100mm. When I look at their website they seem a lot different from the ones I have. Which might be good as the ones I have didn't last very long. Lots of burnt out LED's within 2 years of use. Ended up disconnecting them. Good luck.

Well I'm finally getting around to building my lights that have been sitting on the shelf for like 3 years. I tired using dupli-color shadow on the shrouds but it didn't coat evenly, so annoying...Chrome sucks! So I used some paint stripper, party hoping it would strip the chrome too.. The chrome laughed but the paint melted.

We typically use the 110mm for inside the shroud, on every shroud. With the exceptions of the mini turbine being 100mm.

I have the Apollo 3.0 black and the inside switch back is way to big! Ordered the 110mm as recommended! Having to order the 100mm now! Post pictures on how it fits
