Apple CarPlay Issues with 4th Gen Tacoma?

    Interesting. Thanks for the helpful info and clarification. My wording then should have been that he's looking for a wireless connection instead of wired, without specifying which wireless tech.

    Correct, we're discussing wireless carplay and the stated issue of it not reconnecting.

    If he left his phone in the truck he wouldn't have to manually connect.

    I understand. The point being, if he left his phone in the truck he wouldn't have to manually connect to CarPlay.

    I don't know the distance the gate is from the truck, but for argument's sake let's say the distance is 50 feet. I suppose he could get a 60-foot USB-C cable, which would allow him to keep his phone in his pocket for the one minute it takes to walk to the gate, close it, and then walk back to his truck.

    What do you suggest, besides leaving the phone in the truck?

    If I am following some user issues, I would suggest if your phone doesn’t pair, push down and hold the volume knob (power button) for about ten seconds. It will reboot the multimedia.
