Pretty dumb to me, without a phone in your pocket or near proximity, it's just a fucking watch. I don't see the breakthrough here, I see another accessory to iPhones that keeps you locked into Apple's products to utilize the gimmicky features the watch has to offer.

All I heard yesterday on the radio was things that you can do with the watch that "you don't need to pull out your phone for." Like pulling a phone out of your pocket is a chore or something? Society is doomed.

I'm not really interested in getting an apple watch, my timex weekender is perfect for me, but from what I read the idea is to work with your phone ( must be a 6 of any size) and transfer notifacations and alerts to you faster. It is also supposed to be linked to apple pay and work as a payment system.

Personally I think they will make money on them, but it won't change the world. But it could be interesting if they could develop apps to make it a universal key or ID for, say, a car or house or sudent ID for a college. I think its an interesting sci fi kind of idea that could be cool if used and priced right.

Still waiting on my apple jet pack though.....

I freely admit I'm pro android, but I also appreciate choices.
I just, for the life of me, can't figure out why an Apple fan needs another avenue to proove how big of a douche bag they are?

Don't do it, you need all t h e help you can get. No thanks necessary.

Android already have a watch. I don't think the brand of phone you have determines douchebaggery.

Just out of curiosity what makes you pro android? The cost, proprietary accessories, or something else? In everyday use I don't see much diffference between them.

I must admit. I've never needed either with any brand of phone I've owned and I've had a cell phone since 1995.

And since the use of cloud services and battery cases or small portable lithium ion battery packs I don't see a need ever in the future.

And, IIRC, Samsung ditched the removable battery and SD card slot on their latest phone.

I remember when the iPhone 1 was released this was a talking point. Don't think it's ever been an issue other than something for iPhone haters to bring up.

yep, the two platforms are merging. My M1 8 has a built in battery. Still, the removable storage is a big plus and always has been for Android. Nice to see that Apple is making that happen.

I still got pissed off when I saw the first apple watch comercial. Guy was showing it off to another guy and his girl. The girl thought it was so cool that she ditched the first guy. Are Apple people that superficial and materilaistic? Wife said the add was rediculous as well. I dunno?

To each their own, I have had them both so don't get your panties in a twist, end of the day it doesn't really matter.

The pricing itself isn't that far fetched from current smart watch pricing. At the lower end of the spectrum 300-400 is what you'd expect to pay for a smart watch android or apple. What you're getting at the higher end of the price range is higher quality materials being used in the build (stainless steel instead of aluminum for the $500 watch and rose gold/platinum/gemstones for the 10K watch)

Seems like Apple is trying to make their way into the high end jewelry market to compete with the likes of panerai, citizen, bulova, rolex, etc. who all sell watches for that kind of money.

I don't really think the latter half will work out too well since all those names have been established for at least a century and watch snobs are just that, snobs.

I will be buying one though, it would be great to be able to check navigation on my watch or look at notifications without pulling out my phone while riding my motorcycle. I'm a tech geek and I've owned both Apple and Android products. At the end of the day, Apple just works better and more seamlessly, especially in conjunction with other apple products. Can't say the same for Android and PC.

I have apparently hit the age where older is better…. I wantmy watch to just be a watch nothing more nothing less. I can’t imagine that anyone could evercompare an iwatch with the likes of Panerai. Citizen and Rolex maybe…

I work in the tech industry. Most graphic designers I know use Macbook Pro's. Most programmers/developers I know use iMacs or PC's running Linux. These people are far from idiots as they are they ones creating all the fun little apps/programs/websites you use and see everyday on your android/pc/apple.

Why do they chose Apple, because it just works better. You can spend $1000-1500 building your own PC to do specifically what you want (gaming, programming, designing) or you can buy an Apple for the same price and be done with it. In our line of work, we like to work smarter, not harder. If apple users are idiots, than android/pc users are insane (insanity- doing the same thing over and over expecting different results)

It would of been cool if you only took the watch with you , while mountain biking or hiking.

Thats exactly what I'm saying. I would just use my phone for gadget stuff and have an actual watch for telling time.

They say the two first things a woman notices about a man are his shoes and his watch. Fresh kicks and a clean watch for me. I don't want my first impression to be talking into my watch.

Expandable memory is going out the window for the Galaxy S6, is it not? Pretty sure I heard they're switching to internal memory.
