this product could be a major step up, .. will see how it works soon enough I guess
might have to roadtrip to MN to get some salty spray all over first, its been nearly bone dry for snow accumulation around the mighty MO river here so far this winter

Yeah, it will eventually cause you're undercoating to fall off just as it did mine but FF works well. I have surface rust on the outside of the frame only. Rubberized undercoating just traps moisture underneath it until it falls off. There is nothing wrong with "surface rust" it's the rust that actually eats cheap steal that is the problem. What I care about on my frame is all the nooks and cranny I can't see and that is where FF shines. I creeps and keeps on creeping. I skipped a year and still had FF oozing out of the inside of my frame through the various holes in the frame and that is on the horizontal holes not just those on the bottom. My frame is still nice and solid. I have a 2004 and it's been in Wyoming for over 4 years now. Sand and salt spray always wash the FF off the outside of the frame within a month whereas all those nooks and cranny stay protected and it's the nooks and cranny's where the serious rust starts. I've also found that it makes no sense to blast the under carriage of the truck all the time. Let the crap stay stuck to the FF and clean it when summer arrives. I wash the underside of my truck but not near as often as I used to.

With the exception of one year where I skipped the FF application I haven't notice any rubber deterioration underneath my Tacoma. I just hose the entire thing down with FF a month or so before winter and then let it "set up". I don't wash the undercarriage with anything for about two months into winter and when I do use the wand I keep some distance.
