Here are a few pictures from the first year of ownership. I bought it from a used dealer in SC who said that it belonged to an insurance salesman who only used it to commute. A month after i bought it i threw a rod through the block and started hunting for a new motor... the first big mod. Dad and I think the culprit was a bad timing belt job (probably done at the used dealership). Ill try to find some pictures of us doing the swap.

A few pictures of my first year of ownership. Had to replace the motor after only having it about a month... threw a rod. Dad thinks it was a bad timing belt job at the used dealership. Found a motor that only had 50,000ish miles on it and swapped it in. I guess you could say it was the first mod, I'll try to find some pictures of the swap.

(07/26/2014) My first wheeling trip on Town Mountain in NC. Hit some fire roads with a couple little obstacles on the sides. Couldn't do much on 31's and no lift.

(July/2014) The first phase of the lift begins!!

The initial setup was the infamous Bilstein 5100 adjustable kit that reused the front factory coils.

    IMG_4843.jpg

    IMG_4842.jpg

Out back I was running the factory pack with a 2 inch deaver AAL and Bilstein 5125s.

    IMG_4108.jpg

Smashed my thumb pretty good tightening everything down. Split the nail in half

(February 2015) I decided the brush guard was dumb as hell and ditched it in order to do the satoshi grille mod. It was relatively easy and came out really well. Shout out to @HomerTaco for the mesh, which i finished off with an old FJ40 Emblem i found on the interwebs.

    IMG_3696.jpg

Mounted up my Hella 500s behind the grille using some slotted angle. Just ran a couple of the radiator support bolts through it and wired it all up to the headlights.

    (February 12, 2015)

Shortly after the trip to Town Mountain I decided it was time to start the build for real... 33's!! I think I found TW around this time. I loved my Hankook Dynapro 265s but I wanted a larger tire. Cooper ST MAXX 255/85-16s. Bought 5 so i could even upgrade my spare.

    IMG_3712.jpg

They are thebomb.com, and i got them just in time to test them out in the snow.

    IMG_3728.jpg

Unfortunately, my stock coils were saggier than a ninety year old womans....nevermind... they were sagging.

    IMG_4847.jpg

A quick call to ToyTec resulted in new ToyTec/Bilstein/Eibach Coilovers. $400 later and i had enough lift to comfortably clear my new tires and i could adjust them to dial in just right.

(May/2016) My build slowed way down because I moved to GA from NC for work. After settling in I started noticing a few things that needed upgrading before moving on with the build. My rear leaf pack with the AAL was nearly flat and the 5125's were jarring as i went over the speed bumps in my complex so I decided to up grade my rear with AllPro's 3 inch leaf pack.

Here is a few before shots with just the AAL.

    IMG_4275.jpg

    IMG_4276.jpg

And a shot of the new flex with the new AllPro leafs. Hal approves.

(February/2016) I made a buddy on here, @Burnett who did an excellent job welding my bumper and sliders. Good music, cold beer and new buds.:welder::sawzall: Here are a few pictures of me mocking up the light hoop. (Notice i painted the grille around this time.)

Got jealous of the second gen guys and made my own track system on the inside of my bedrail. Its a Thule Trac Rac for a campershell. Welded up a little rack with my neighbor and added a Yakima Basket and mount for my High Lift.
