Amen. This is a perfect example of how guns don't kill people, people kill people. The psycho people are the ones that USE a gun to kill. So what if they beat the crap out of someone with a baseball bat? Are they going to ban those? No. Because there's a lot of actual reasons to have a bat, like baseball. Haha. Guns are for protecting, hunting, and competition shooting and that's what they're sold to the public for.

you do know who this bunch is don't ya?... you do know what their "long game" is, right?... if they can't ban your gun, they will try to keep you from feeding it... what they "want" is something like what they got in kalifornia a couple years ago, ...where you can only get ammo from a "licensed dealer"... major retailers have now refused to do business there so they don't get into a legal trap...

    http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/...elcome-bill-restricting-online-182934423.html

    from the article:
"The new legislation, dubbed the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act, rests on four pillars, according to Lautenberg's office:
It requires anyone selling ammunition to be a licensed dealer.
It requires ammunition buyers who are not licensed dealers to present photo identification at the time of purchase, effectively banning the online or mail order purchase of ammo by regular civilians.
It requires licensed ammunition dealers to maintain records of the sale of ammunition.
It requires licensed ammunition dealers to report the sale of more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition to an unlicensed person within any five consecutive business days."

Hmmm, well idk. I like the micro dot more, but the lifetime warranty that comes with the vortex would be nice.

Holy shit, how did I miss this gem. Please educate yourself before you come on here professing like you know shit. We do have background checks for every purchase already. Even better than the local police, its ran by the FBI. Its called NICS and it keeps people from owning guns that shouldn't own them. Holy fuck how much more do you want?

Anyone have a eotech red dot mounted and a 45 degree angle on there ar15? I have a huge vortex scope on mine and I thought it might be nice to be able to shoot a little closer by tilting the rifle. Anyone suggestions on this would be helpful.

You usually see that in a 3gun setup. It's for exactly that, swapping from long to short targets quickly.

Usually a microdot or docter sight is used on an offset bracket.

You know anything cheaper than these? I spent all the money on the gun so I dont have a big budget to spend on a off set sight.

Nice I purchased a Sig 716 today can't wait to pick it up. I was looking at that Colt and a few more AR's. After way to much thinking I went Sig 716, my freind wants me to hunt bear. Also for an investment i'm going to get a Sig P566. I have one on hold at Cabelas. That's just going in the safe.

The whole thing was thrown out as "unconstitutionally vague"
The grabbers are trying to rewrite it in a way that will get it through the courts, but it hasn't seen the light of day yet.

My two sources for ammo have always been and remain Ammunitiontogo and WalMart.

It's funny when I in northern Wisconsin you can buy a Sig M400 at the Rice Lake Walmart.
I'm joking but I bet you could find a Bushmaster in a gas station. The Rice Lake Walmart does carry Sigs.
I get back to Illinois, make that northern Il. the only guns in Walmart are in the pockets of the scum that shop.
We live in a crazy country, I just want a state to be a state not overruling federal laws.
When I was a kid going to a different county and the law were different.

The Walmart here in K-Ville has at least two different brand ARs at a time. Usually a Freedom group AR and a Colt or Sig.

In Hayward WI. the ACE Hardware has guns, they have a few AR's, about 30 or so hand guns. Most of the guys are looking at the shot guns. They had a Rossi Judge riffle.
It's great i'll go in to get a HVAC filter or something and look at whats new. Its not like a Gander, Bass or Cabelas but it makes the trip worth it. I can strike up converstation with a old timer about a riffle and a hour later were talking about the heat and fishing.
