    Nods

Something most people don’t have to worry about here. Aimpoint has there own NVG height mount as well as many of the after market people.

If I’ve got NVG money I might as well get a DBAL or something similar, keep the optic a little more streamlined for daytime use.

You would think that but actually bringing the rifle up you don’t have to “turtle” or drop your head down any. Red dot is right there where is needs to be, just dry firing it was very comfortable. Will get to the range next Tuesday and try it out on steel and paper.

and the nvg thing is a bonus too :spy:

I went with ATPIAL. I tried lining up my tube with an Eotech but it's slow to find it and line up a shot. Not interested in raising the sight.

Bullettoothtoney is correct. The issue is people don’t have good technique so things like turtling are accepted and no one is none the wiser when you come on to these type forums. However very few people are training 10 hour days for weeks doing rehearsals but I can tell you that not only are you more streamlined but you get less neck fatigue.
On normal height optics, say a Eotech, I rotate the rifle about a 35 degree to get the right height to keep my neck in the right position.

Dbals/peqs/ or things like them are fine if you know how to use them or know when they are bad ideas. CQB distances and angles is where you will find heartache with your $1000 dbal between target blooming and laser offset.

I was wondering if there would be an advantage to raising the sight to help with neck cranking and shit lol

They exps3 sits higher then most mounts anyway but even then i still had to drop my head too much for my liking, and when wearing full on larp gear it was even worse. Ive got high hopes that this will fix almost of my little issues, if not i'll be on the search for something else i guess.

Try turning the rifle inward a little. About 10-30 degrees.

What’s everybody running for slings? Looking at a magpul QD right now. But I need to get a new stock first with a QD mount.

My scope is too low on my AR. Seemed ok offhand, but not so much on the bench. Any suggestions on how to determine what height to get?

I'm running an Edward Sherman Design sling. I like it better than the magpul ms4. It's easier to adjust.

Put this another way, how far above the bore center is the center of the scope? 3x9x40, anyone have that mounted on an AR?

You looking for bore height for a ballistic solver or something?
