Look at my post on #23170. You’ll see, I've already covered that. However, while there are conspiracy theorist on here, there’s also also people who think the .gov is more organized then they really are.

So has anybody run into this? The prism optics have an eye relief of 3.8" although it is apparently more generous than that. i wanted to mont the flip up back up sight but it interfers with moving the otic as far rearward as I'd like. this was about as close as I could mount it to the rear sight so it wouldn't interefere with each other. There is a block in the top rail that limits where you can place it. Looking for options to have both as of now I removed the rear sight and moved the optic rearward.

Is something like the cantilevered sight mounts about my only option?

Flip/reverse your rear sight and mount it as far back as you can without it interfering with the charging handle. Then you can mount your optic fully on the receiver.

Glad you got that figured out.

Personally I like the ARMS low profile sights, they never interfere with any optic I've had mounted on and they are pretty rugged. It tucks underneath an ACOG, M4S, or a 3X.

I saw. Just adding my $.o2 (inflation adjusted). And I agree - a government is a good thing to have for things you need a government to do. Armed forces, court system, securing and protecting rights, etc. But people would do well to realize it's a convenience - a certain way of handling certain tasks that makes sense for those tasks - and should not be a bully nor some weird In Loco Parentis entity as a lot of folks seem to want it to be these days.

We're a self-determining people. The primary responsibility for seeing to our well being and needs lies with us with the government only being involved on the margins. As always, real life and theory differ, but understanding the theory is important to having a properly calibrated view of exactly where real life is right this second. Our Federal government here in the US is completely amok. There needs to be some drastic scaling back, but I am skeptical it will ever happen. And, correlatedly, one would do well NOT to bet on high levels of competence in government. Those who need an explanation why should have a read: https://www.nationalreview.com/2010/12/welcome-machine-kevin-d-williamson/

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”
    ― Alexander Fraser Tytler

We're somewhere between apathy and dependence, with forays back into selfishness. Amoral familism is next.
