I haven't tried yet. I do want to get a silencer though. Just hear from buddies complaining it takes a long time. I guess the AFT has it's shit together this month lol!

silencers are a different story, my last one came in at 172 days on a individual filing

if you want a can just put in the process, buy it and forget it - there is never really a good time to do it

Seconded. My Form 1 came back so fast I thought I had messed something up and they were rejecting it.

Form 4s take forever regardless of how you file. Usually e-file is faster but not always. Just like anything else with the Gov there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason it.

Edit: Also, when I was working at the shop we would have one person waiting on a stamp for 9 months while another who submitted paperwork around the same time got it turned around in 4 months. No idea why. We always speculated that maybe the 9 month wait was due to them having a similar name to someone else and requiring a more in-depth background check.

    OH NICE!!

My first AR is a DD, 16". I dunno....8+ years(?) now - it's heavy - but it's a beast. Many 1000 round cases of 5.56 cycled..........not a hiccup - no signs of barrel wear. Always most accurate with 62gr, which seems contrary to most folks claiming 55gr.

My only stamp is a 10" 10mm AR, gas powered. Still just a project gun, really.

I mainly got it for the risii rail (the rail is a beast and i can see why many speak highly of it) and the lore following of the mk18, its shorter than I would like to shoot but it makes for a nice length with a can. Shoots nice with the right load but with a 10.3 from a 556 I am not expecting much

This definitely is making my pants tighter....:anonymous:
How to do you like the UH-1? I'm thinking about trying a gen 1 out b/c you can find them used for around $325 and I've read most prefer them over the eotech.

Nice rifle and you just answered my question about the difference in the approval process between silencers and SBR’s

Why is there a difference in the times for silencer and SBR's? Kinda weird, but you know it's the government.

To go a little more in depth, it’s not really a SBR vs suppressor approval process difference, it’s a difference in the forms.
The Form 1 process is the application to manufacture an NFA item, the form 4 process is the the application to transfer an already manufactured item.
@inesshell manufactured his SBR in the eyes of the law so he did a form 1, form 1’s get approved much faster (typically within 90 days) than the form 4’s.

I don’t know why form 1’s get approved faster than form 4’s (I don’t know if the examiners are different or what) but it’s possible to form 1 a suppressor and get the tax stamp back in a short period of time and start the manufacturing process of your suppressor.

See my above post, it’s not a difference in the items, simply a difference in the form that is submitted.

i have a gen 1 as well, the tint on the glass is more noticeable but i like the reticles on them and for the price they cant be beat for a holo - and the biggest plus of them all is the Vortex vip lifetime warranty over eotech

    np
