This will come down to the Feds having a BIGGER dick!

Was chatting with some of the guys at ATF today at my office and they think this will be an expensive battle.....

LOL. Technically, based on how the rule is written, I see Rare Breed's point. But I think the spirit of the rule is a bit different. So yeah, probably an expensive battle.

Like Kenny Rogers famously said. You have to know when to hold em, and when to fold em.

I know people that have had their lives (needlessly) ruined by bowing up to the ATF. The moment they hear you say "come at me brah", that's exactly what they do.

This is a company however. It’s not the first time the ATF has came after specific manufacturers and it’s not like the ATF has ever been caught over reaching, as they tend to do.

It’s also not the same as a redneck in west Virginia talking about how he “won’t comply” because they “know their rights.” That persons life might be ruined, the companies have a long court battle ahead of them.

That being said, and to you point to know when to fold…it doesn’t look like they ever had a approval letter for the trigger in question. Combined with the definition change of a single stage trigger that came out of the bump stock ban. Which makes it hard to seem righteous. I’m not for NFA, or any deterioration of gun rights, I’m just saying how it is.

I agree. But look at what has happened to the "solvent trap" businesses. No "determinations" either and that's an even "less grey" area..... (lots of quotes.....)

Unless they're Google or Amazon, the risk vs reward balance is quite different.

Only instance I see it being useful is cover fire/fire suppression. That is, if you find yourself in that situation with enough ammunition to burn. Otherwise, semi is far more accurate and cost efficient.

and they're damn fun. Shooting sports doesn't have to be all super-sayan-serious. Having a fake giggle switch is fun when you're plinkin.

but he sure as hell didn't let you keep it. And it most likely didn't cost that much either, if it was pre '86.

There is something to be said about a certain anticlimactic feeling about it though, if you have used full auto in a career.

More over, I don’t like buying or making more ammo than necessary. I shoot in high volumes as it is. So personally, I don’t see the appeal of mag dumping if it’s not making you better somehow, specifically when it’s on your dime and not on uncle sams.

Professionally, I don’t see the merit in it besides suppressive fire while bounding. Or setting up machine gun positions from the static. Then there’s all the stuff life grazing fire, defilade, T, horse shoe fighting, interlocking fires etc. blah blah.

I’m sure it’s fun just to go waste some ammo for some, but I can see it being whatever for other people. It is for me.

No, I didn't get to keep my M16. I don't think military folks nowdays get to keep their weapons either. Maybe I missed your point?

    Price went up after '86?

There talking about the 1986 firearms owners protection act

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearm_Owners_Protection_Act

Preban auto sears rarity and thus value went sky high. For over 30 years, and to this day.

Yet here we are, in the modern day, when you can print a $0.50 swift link in 60 minutes and be on your way - they're literally disposable at this point. Accessible 3D printing is quickly making the government fall behind on what is possible and how they can effectively regulate it. And I welcome the advances. Can't stop the signal.
