Yup! One of the owners is an attorney. They are skirting a fine line with this trigger. I know they did their homework and it feels like they baited the ATF to go after them.

I mostly shoot the Barry's Plated 350gr out of mine. Mines a ~9 inch barrel SBR that I shoot primarily suppressed though. When not shooting suppressed I have used 405gr lead through it (same bullets I used in my 45-70)

Given the circumstances and the law it's going to highlight and the fact they have 3 or 4 ex ATF agents that have been on both side of the process. The ATF is currently also their attack on Rare Breed triggers appears to be the agency testing the waters on compliance. it is also being eyed for registration and taxation $200 tax stamp.

Below is the BIGGER part of this issue:

The development of this case holds interest for all gun owners, whether they purchased an FRT-15 themselves or not. An ATF court victory would enable them to classify things however they please, regardless of their own definitions. If this is the outcome, FRT-15 owners should expect a knock on the door from the Federals at some point where they may even see their dog get reclassified as target practice. If the courts determine that the ATF is obligated to abide by definitions as they are written in the NFA, we will likely see the FRT-15 and a slew of similar designs flood the market and finally enable the common man to own weapons with otherwise financially prohibitive fire rates. The FRT-15 forcibly resets the trigger after each round is fired, avoiding legal classification as a machinegun because there is only one round fired per trigger pull despite the greatly increased rate of fire. Regardless of how blatantly this device skirts the spirit of the law intended to restrict private ownership of fully automatic weapons, it does not change the fact that it complies with the letter of the law. If the ATF wishes to classify the FRT-15 as a machinegun, they will need to amend how a machinegun is defined within the NFA. This is what these guys are banking on the "word of the law" for passing of this trigger.

That is well-put, and is where my head is at on the issue. They should only be allowed to enforce what is in the law. If they don't like it, they need to fix the wording of the law, not drag someone through the courts and waste our money in the process.

Executive branch agencies have limited authority and may act only to the extent authorized by Congress. Most executive branch agencies, including ATF, are authorized to administer and interpret relevant existing laws through promulgating regulations. ATF is presently determining whether its current legal authority permits it to regulate the manufacture, sale, or possession of advanced rate of fire devices. But the scope of ATF’s authority to regulate trigger devices is a creature of statute, and Congress can act and pass laws pertaining to this.

The current actions is to go around the current laws and legislate from the bench and hope to get favorable rulings on them and wipe out hand picked items....

"Shall not be infringed" has been misinterpreted since before we were born. Don't see why they should feel compelled to stop now.
