    I was looking at a possible A1 clone project the one Brownells offers seems pretty good but now you have to get it in all loose parts mail be another fun build though. Then find a real bayonet and surplus sling

    I picked up the upper in 2018 at a gun show for $50
    Had a bunch of spare parts floating around to finish out the lower that was already in my safe
    A buddy sold me the stock, tube, and buffer for $50
    Another buddy had a spare contract FN barrel that he gave me for free
    Need to get a green grip but meh don't care that much

    Only if you get lucky on the carry handle upper...those things command stupid money right now

    You can occasionally catch a new production C7 for reasonable...but I've watched several versions go on gunbroker...stripped...for over $200...thats just asinine

    I looked at some Delton carry handle uppers a few years back and they were under a hundred bucks. With inflation, there’s no telling what they are fetching today.
