I got it that way and immediately removed. The pic rail section on the gas block was lower than on the reciever so idk how that would have worked anyway.

My quick review of the Die Free Co. Kung Fu Grip -

I thought I'd give the Kung Fu a shot, honestly because of the marketing and popularity. This was an impulse buy (I LOVE SPENDING MONEY). But in short - Not a fan.

What I like: Aggressive grip texture is nice for combatting sweat on a summer training day.

    What I don't like:
    • Feels like cheap plastic. The moment I took it out of the box I was disappointed - the physical feedback of squeezing it reminded me of the interior plastic of a 2007 Saturn Ion.
    • Odd Shape. The grip is thicker in the front and tapers to the back. To me, that's an odd design choice and I don't find it comfortable.
    • Hollow, Open Bottom. I always carry optic and light batteries, and a couple hex keys. Can't do that with the Kung Fu. They just started selling "plugs" separately (another $12 plus ~$8 shipping and handling).

You could argue that $20 is a bargain, but after accounting for the butt plug, tax, shipping, and handling, in my opinion, it's no longer a bargain, it's just cheap.

Disclaimer: A steep grip angle, even on a longer rifle, gives me the control and confidence I prefer. I've got an abnormally long wingspan... Something I learned whenever while buying my first bow - The let-off never felt like much of a release until I tried a long draw bow. 12-17 degree grip angle for me is like correcting your alignment with new UCAs after lifting your truck.
