No forward assist, dust cover or muzzle break. None of that is really needed. I was watching a video on youtube on how to clear a jam without needing forward assist, just using the charging handle..(no rigging it, just a simple cutout that what its meant for.)

For that price, go buy something new. Depending on where you are, that can be done at Walmart. One of my local Walmart's carries, Colt, S&W & Remington.

Do a little research on what you're actually buying beyond simply an AR, otherwise you may have a bit of buyers remorse IMO. Do your due diligence - that $800 it sounds like you were willing to spend can get you a much better and more customizable rifle than what you linked.

An easy path to follow is through PSA - www.palmettostatearmory.com. Just pick the basics to start with and you'll end up fine. Later, work your way up after you know your rifle.

    In short, don't buy that.

Hold one...I have held one a few times, and for what most people are going to do with it, it's a great rifle.

I got caught up with the names and this and that..Then I sat down and thought..I'm not military, I'm not LONG distance shooting(2-300 yards at most), and I'm not shooting competition..Why spend $1,000 or more to let it sit in the safe 90% of the time?

If you do just a bit of research online, most people who buy the M&P sports dont have a problem. One guy I just read a blog about, has shot over 5,000 rounds with his, claims not one malfunction, with minimal cleaning, shooting various brands of ammo. Stay away from cheap stuff and you should be fine in whatever you get.

I recently forgot how much good ammo is. I've been reloading for awhile but don't have time or access to it anymore. Went into wholesale yesterday and spent 60 bucks on 60 rounds, and those were the "cheap" ones too.

You need to consider going to an online store if you can. You can get mil-surp pull down ammo for 45 cents a round or so, or go cheaper with imported stuff like Prvi if you look around.
