Rob, if you take two complete rifles, built to the same specs with parts sourced from the same "pile" are they not equal? Who cares what rollstamp is on them.

I guess I have a little different opinion because all my frankenrifles run good.

Unfortunately it doesnt work. the on off knob looks like it was pried out. I ordered a new one, under $400. I guess the military gets a big discount due the volume of sales.

Picked it up yesterday at RifleGear. Its been about 23 years since my last firearm purchase, a Baretta 92FS, so I thought I'd treat myself to an AR this time around. Currently researching the optics & sights, I hope to get this out to the desert soon. The wife is happy about it.

It depends on the intended role and the distance you plan on shooting it at.

anybody using synthetic motor oil to lube their AR? I've read many people do it without a problem. peoples only complaint is the smell when the gun starts to heat up.

We use it on our M110 and SR-25's, M240/249's, the automotice lubricant industry spends hundreds of millions of dollars, if not billions in researching how to dissipate heat, friction and remove particulate contamination. They are far and away ahead of most of the firearms lubricants. That being said, I am a fan of Froglube and Mpro7 for all of my personal guns. The trick as always is to use it sparingly on the working parts. almost all of our guns on here do not need to be run "wet" with lubricants. Ymmv

I went with a primary arms red dot.
The m3 clone. It's pretty damn good. Really good quality too.
