I built mine. About $740 into it customized how I want (minus optics)
Aero Precision makes the blanks that Armalite uses, so I went with an Aero Precision Lower and Upper, you can get both from Surplus Ammo Supply. Both Mil Spec.
Bolt Carrier group nickel boron plated, 6 position collapsable stock, dueck defense 45 degree back up sights, flash hider, found a small shop in Ohio that sells 5.56 barrels for $99 with 1 in 9 twist (better for 55gr bullets) Sniper grip handle, Extended Charging Handle. All the goodies, plus its always more fun to build your own.

What do you guys think about the SSAR-15 bump fire/slide fire stocks?? I have a couple of AR's and a couple of AK's and was thinking about one...pretty much for novelty use because 350.00 seems kind of steep. And it is pretty much a huge waste of ammo!!

Toytec ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper and full skid plates underneath. Looking into redoing the suspension and maybe repainting the ol' Taco.
They are a fun alternative to the hugely expensive select fire alternative. They are fairly easy to control the rate of fire and the muzzle rise is easy to control because of that. They are not the most comfortable stock to shoulder, but they are fun to have.

Well I am sure it is more fun to play with than the POS HK416's here in Afghan land!! I used to love these until you actually have to operate with one, and then you learn real quick that they are crap in a highly used environment!!

Meh, I heard about the same from all my hardcore "buy American" friends. If I would have listened I wouldn't have a taco. I'll let you guys know if my lower snaps in half at the range.

The only problem I have heard about polymer lowers is that with time they get kind of squishy. Not that they catastrophically fail but they tend to give a little bit. I say go for it and if lowers are still legal in the next couple years, you can replace it if it does fail. Not a big deal. Personally I wouldn't run a carbine class with one.

We couldn't keep ours running for anything. The funny thing is we stopped using them another federal agency bought them off us. Agreed. Total junk.
