I got the delta ring/ barrel nut installed on this upper (woot!) and I realized that it did indeed come with a Colt M-16 BCG and not Stag! Now all I need to do is get the Vltor gas block on and I'll be shooting it.

Personally I would pick the battle comp or the 3rd one you posted. I've heard nothing but great things about the battle comp

I am working on, and have been for quite some time, an article on the effectiveness of various popular muzzle devices on the market right now. I'm currently trying to merge schedules with my photographer and the range to make this happen. Here is a photo of just some of the devices we are testing.

My opinion after spending a decent amount of time with these devices, and observing shooters at our events, is that brakes are largely transfer devices for many shooters, meaning they are designed to transfer money from your pocket to someone else's. For a shooter with a good stance, grip, and grasp of the fundamentals they *can* aid in getting shorter split times, but IME that's about it. And that's saying a lot. I see shooters very often who move into the buying phase way too early and try to skip the learning phase. In terms of managing recoil and controling the gun, stance and grip will have an exponentially greater impact than any device you can hang off the muzzle. In other words, if you are not shooting properly there is not a brake in the world that can help you.

My question would be, what are you trying to accomplish with the brake. If you just want something cool on the end of the barrel that's ok,but you should clearly state that. If you feel that your stance and grip are good, your split times are as good as they are going to get, and you need a mechanical advantage to wring out the last little bit, then I'd say a brake might be a place to look, remembering that even the vaunted Battlecomp absolutely does increase side blast and noise not only to those around the shooter but to the shooter as well. There ain't no free lunch.

To the guy shopping the RRA, I would suggest a basic Spike's Tactical mid-length. Get your local pawnshop transfer fee and then deal with Spike's direct as much as possible. At their price point, I don't know any other AR better than the Spike's. The major caveat with them is that they are extremely busy and they appear to be falling victim to the infamous gun industry "we'll have it in two weeks" sickness, which always turns out to be a bullshit response.

My second choice would be a Smith & Wesson M&P15. Not the "OR" or any other "budget" models but their basic standard model. Your pawn shop ought to be able to order you one from any of their distributors or you can again do the transfer thing. Either way you should not be paying more than $900 for this rifle, and don't let the MSRP in the link scare you off.
