So if they do ban AR10/15s and I ordered a few of them a bout 6 weeks ago, before all this shit went down. What happens to my order? Will my firearms be grandfathered in, and I still get them? Because I'm a lefty and no one had them in stock I have a 50+ week wait for both rifles. ( Stag AR15 8L and an Armalite AR-10A4).

If you don't want to deal with the price rape going on you can back order pmags from Brownells. They have a deal for a 10 pack of black Pmags for 125 dollars shipped. Use promo code DSR all in caps before dec 31st. Code gives the free shipping.

No idea what the time frame is but the price is good

what do y'all recommend twist wise for a 223 varmint upper?
i'm going with a 18'' barrel with a 223 wylyde chamber, from what i've read you choose the bullet weight by what shoots best but to start with do i go with 1-7, 1-8, or 1-9?

    thanks guys.

oh, and we get to pick up the colt and lowers tomorrow. :woot:

The upper itself don't matter, the barrel has the twist to it. When you say varmint, you mean prairie dog, or coyote or all around. Generally speaking, the tighter the twist, the better it stabilizes heavier bullets, and less twist does better on lighter bullets. So, it all depends.

i meant a dedicated varmint upper, all around i think, but geared more towards coyotes.
i also think i want a medium contour barrel and a free float hand guard.

I'd go 1in 7, then you could shoot the heavier pills at larger varmints.

I have found my 1/8 twist barrel handles a wide variety of bullet weights and types. For coyotes I like using the 60 grn nosler partition, they don't come apart upon impact and hold together.

i was thinking 1/8, that way i can still have decent accuracy when i'm plinking with light ammo.

also, standard chrome lined barrel, or medium stainless barrel?
